The Baby From Nirvana's Nevermind Cover Art Recreates Image

by Ezra Zydan

It doesn't matter if you're a fan of Nirvana or not - there's a very good chance that you've heard of their album, Nevermind. It was only one of the biggest albums of the 1990s grunge era, and it featured the image of a nude baby in a pool swimming after a dollar. Rolling Stone magazine did a reader poll to rank cover art through the centuries, and Nirvana's Nevermind album cover art ranked number three on the list of most iconic art. Why is this important? Well, the wee babe on the cover - Spencer Elden - turned 25 in February this year. With Nirvana's Nevermind turning 25 as well, he decided to recreate that iconic work of art - he wanted to do it in the buff, but the photographer talked him out of it, instead getting him to wear shorts for the shoot.
