The New Ring Trailer Terrifies a New Generation

It's been around 15 years since The Ring rocked the horror world. The early 2000's brought us a whole new world of horror and when The Ring came out, it was no exception.

The plot is simple to understand, your friend gave you a VHS to pop in (to be fair, most of you probably don't know what a VHS is, but it's like a cassette tape except for videos and they're obsolete today,) and what you see chills you to the bone. It's confusing and terrifying and whatever it is, you don't like it because it doesn't sit right in the pit of your stomach. As soon as the video ends your phone rings and while this normally wouldn't be concerning, something about this instance is not any comfort after watching the odd video. You answer and a scratchy, child's voice whispers, "seven days." That's it for the moment, you don't know what it means but you don't like it. The kicker? A week later a small girl horrifically crawls out of a TV and kills you.

OK, maybe the story line alone doesn't scare you right now but don't be fooled. Everything about this movie was terrifying in 2002 and it's impression on society lasted quite some time. The horror flick was even parodied successfully in the Scary Movie humor franchise.

Well, the story is back today to terrify a new generation of horror lovers and the trailer alone is enough to make you flip your lights on and cower under a blanket, shivering.

Set to come out later this year, the trailer has sucked us all back in, eager with anticipation to be scared out of our minds.

Don't believe me? Keep reading and you can watch the terrifying trailer yourself.

The Ring sequel is simply titled, "Rings," and takes place 13 years after the original.
Look, I've warned you how scary the trailer is so don't be surprised if you cry a little bit watching this:

Picking up right where the now horror classic left off, this horror movie does one thing absolutely correct by focusing less on special effects and "wow" factor horror movie tactics that distract from our instinctual fears and instead focuses on the simple storyline and lets the fear take control.

What we know is that this young girl experienced unspeakable horrors and now all she wants to find eternal rest is for you to watch the video so she can relive the experience by now forcing these horrors she endured before death on you, before killing you. Well, that's a gift that keeps on giving...

Rings launched in February of 2017 in the UK and the US and is ready to terrify you today if you haven't joined in on the horror fun yet, it's not too late to be scared down to your bones.

What else does 2017 have to offer us? Rumor has it Stephen King's It will launch soon and Pennywise the Clown's makeover is guaranteed to literally give you nightmares. What a time for horror!
