20 Reasons Why Kids Who Are Born After The Year 2000 Are Lucky As Hell
Things were so much simpler back in the day.

If you were born in the 1990's and the 2000's you know the struggle was real. There were no smartphones, tablets, Xbox or PlayStations. We used to play video games on our parent's old video game set and the graphics were just awful! Children nowadays will cringe if they had to see and experience that.
But we also enjoyed it, as it was the era where we still played outside and enjoyed the freedom of being young and not worrying about anything, especially the pressure of social media that kids these days have. That is why the children of today will not know the struggle we had to go through to get to where we are today.
So a list of twenty items was compiled to show the children of today how it was like before the year 2000.
1. The scratchy mess
This was the worst. When you want to listen to your favourite track and the CD is so scratched you cant, you want to pull your hair out! And we keep the CD no matter how scratched it is, because maybe someday you would be able to play that song of yours again.

2. THE folder
If you had THE folder you were the cool kid on the block and everybody wanted to be your friend, but they were a pain as well with all the bulkiness and hundreds of CD's to choose from. It can get out of control!
3. VHS was the bomb
These were our movies back in the day, with the poor quality and all that rewinding can just let you lose your mind.
4. The biggest problem
Was the awful rewinding the tape and putting everything back in the little box so that you could watch your movie further.
5. No such thing as unlimited data
There were no data plans you get with your cell phone contract. We still had to go to the shop to by us some airtime and then you still needed to only call after a certain time to talk for free otherwise that R 5.00 is gone in seconds!

6. Big and bulky
Those were the days when you had enormous pockets for all your gadgets because your phone could not do anything except playing snake and listening to monotones.

7. Ah! Those were the days
You know your weekend was going to be fun when your parents take you to rent movies that you can keep for the whole weekend to just sit and watch.

8. Eternal battery life
We don't want the brick phone back, but just that lifetime of the battery, please!

9. Blow me away
Blowing things back in the day seemed to solve all the problems and make things magically work again.
10. Very uncomfortable
The things we would do to listen to music in those days.
11. The poor floppydisks
These were so fun too side in and out and it was a plus too irritate your parents with when they are busy with the files on it.

12. Virus after virus
Downloading was a pain! because by the time you are finally getting your song your computer is riddled with pop-ups from the viruses.

13. Letter passing
This was the most thrilling way to "message" your friend in class to tell him or her about your latest crush or who you don't like today. It was great and fun and it will never come back.

14. Old school romance
Guys used to serenade for their crush or girlfriend with the boombox and it was ridiculously romantic.

15. A true pain I tell you!
I never liked these cord phones. They were irritating and you cannot take them anywhere with you.
16. White snow
This is what you get when you want to record a show on VCR and you don't do it right.

17. Oh the fun days of getting lost!
Thank goodness we got google maps and GPS now because reading maps is madness unless you want to find a treasure of course.

18. Music at it's best
Where are the days when MTV was the best channel to watch music, now it's more like a drama channel

19. Crunchy snack
Delicious as could be and the best thing is that they brought it back!
20. Original spinner
The fidget spinner has got nothing on the balancing bird. This could teach children of today some patience and manners.
