Things were so much simpler back in the day.
If you were born in the 1990's and the 2000's you know the struggle was real. There were no smartphones, tablets, Xbox or PlayStations. We used to play video games on our parent's old video game set and the graphics were just awful! Children nowadays will cringe if they had to see and experience that.
But we also enjoyed it, as it was the era where we still played outside and enjoyed the freedom of being young and not worrying about anything, especially the pressure of social media that kids these days have. That is why the children of today will not know the struggle we had to go through to get to where we are today.

This was the worst. When you want to listen to your favourite track and the CD is so scratched you cant, you want to pull your hair out! And we keep the CD no matter how scratched it is, because maybe someday you would be able to play that song of yours again.
There were no data plans you get with your cell phone contract. We still had to go to the shop to by us some airtime and then you still needed to only call after a certain time to talk for free otherwise that R 5.00 is gone in seconds!
Those were the days when you had enormous pockets for all your gadgets because your phone could not do anything except playing snake and listening to monotones.
You know your weekend was going to be fun when your parents take you to rent movies that you can keep for the whole weekend to just sit and watch.
We don't want the brick phone back, but just that lifetime of the battery, please!
These were so fun too side in and out and it was a plus too irritate your parents with when they are busy with the files on it.
Downloading was a pain! because by the time you are finally getting your song your computer is riddled with pop-ups from the viruses.
This was the most thrilling way to "message" your friend in class to tell him or her about your latest crush or who you don't like today. It was great and fun and it will never come back.
Guys used to serenade for their crush or girlfriend with the boombox and it was ridiculously romantic.
This is what you get when you want to record a show on VCR and you don't do it right.
Thank goodness we got google maps and GPS now because reading maps is madness unless you want to find a treasure of course.
Where are the days when MTV was the best channel to watch music, now it's more like a drama channel
