People invest a lot of time, money, and passion into their costume designs, meticulously perfecting every last element of their cosplay characters. Nobody knows everything from birth.

Even though the objectives we set for ourselves occasionally seem insurmountable, perseverance and hard work can eventually pay off. These cosplayers demonstrate that it's true.

Although you may have seen young people in amazing cosplay outfits, how often do you see older individuals devoted to this pastime? Every movie or animated series has characters that are middle-aged or older, and at many cosplay events, children also portray them.

Tia Sol, a 55-year-old Brazilian woman, is proving that age has nothing to do with cosplay. The mother of three and a grandmother enjoys embodying various personalities, and she has gathered over 11k Instagram followers.

Despite being a local cosplayer based in Brazil, her charm has taken the world by storm, and she has become an international star online. Check out a few of her most memorable posts in the gallery below.

She is proving that age is just a number, and an irrelevant one at that. Let's take a look:

I always took her to events, but I never thought about cosplaying because I didn't like to take pictures," Tia Sol said about the origins of the idea. "I suffered from depression, and I didn't like my appearance because I was short and chubby. But one day, a friend of mine asked me, 'Sol, would you dare to cosplay?' I answered yes. She even doubted it. But I went home, talked to my children, and they encouraged me! I developed the idea and researched the character that suited me.I settled on the Granny from Looney Tunes, had the clothes, bought the wig, and I also had Sylvester the Cat and Tweety the Bird made. So, everything was ready, and I went to the event, but I couldn't get in because I was so afraid of what people might say. However, people started coming to take pictures with me. I even participated in the cosplay parade and took 1st place. I was very afraid of being rejected by teenagers, but, on the contrary, I was well received!"

Tia Sol stated that she enjoys dressing up as characters from the anime, comics, and television shows that she likes watching, concentrating primarily on works that have long since been forgotten. However, it is not a simple task.

It's all about the details:

"The most challenging part is making the clothes with all the fine details according to the character: the details of the hair, shoes, and accessories. For that, I have to look everywhere, and I don't always find what I need. But this is where the creativity of painting the clothes, details, and shoes comes into play. There's also the rewarding part, which is when you arrive at the event and see people come up to you and ask to take a picture, witnessing the joy on their faces, and making the character come to life."

We love her costumes and hope more middle-aged and elderly people will join this trend.
