Man Gets Roasted For Always Leaving His GF During The Holidays To Be With His Family
"When she doesn't come along, she stays home by herself"
Everybody has felt the unease of having to adjust to a new tradition after being accustomed to one. For some couple, Christmas is always less difficult so far as kids are not in the picture yet.
You see, the stakes are much higher when your parents are grandparents. And even if it weren't so yet, it's important to recognize that families need to start their own holiday traditions or even adopt an existing one.
Every family is genuinely different. Although every method won't work in every circumstance, there are certain guidelines that can help individuals overcome the difficulty of handling holidays.
This includes the activities you engage in before and throughout Christmas Day at home with your family. Of course, part of your traditions may involve activities with your parents but the emphasis must be on your house.
The OP of today's story failed in that area as he always left his partner behind while going to spend time with his family who live across the coast. In fact, the OP always travel out to see his family two times a year - Christmas and 4th of July.
He works at a college, so he essentially has a school schedule for breaks. His GF wasn't happy about this arrangement though and you'll find out why as you read the entire story below.

She's a mix of remote and in office. During the holidays she can be remote, so it works out ok.I did go for the holidays those years, but she said I should go so I don't miss out on my family time. She said I'd have better memories if I went and enjoyed my family instead of staying home and watching her be sad. I thought it was really sweet that she was encouraging me to spend time with my family. That's one of the things I love about her, she makes space for things that are important to me.Most functional couples alternate between families
