Couple Fight After Constant Coughing For Seven Days Drives Partner To Frustration
Seven days of nonstop coughing turned sympathy into frustration
Someone (OP) recently posted about an argument with their partner that centers on something neither of them can control: a relentless cough.
OP explained that their partner has been coughing almost constantly for the last seven days. Worst of all, this cough gets triggered ever two to three minutes.
It’s been brutal for the poor lady, as she’s struggling to sleep because of the constant need to cough. In addition, OP mentioned that they genuinely feel for her because she’s clearly miserable.
In all this, the cough has surprisingly become a source of argument between the couple. OP admitted that hearing their partner cough every two to three minutes a day is driving them absolutely insane.
They also subtly mentioned this to their partner, while trying to find a solution.
However, from their partner’s point of view, they shouldn’t have any reason to get irritated or annoyed by the cough, as this is something she can’t control.
OP argued that they’re not necessarily annoyed, but rather “concerned” for her health.
They further doubled down by insisting that listening to nonstop coughing for a week right next to the sufferer is an irritant. And this is something that would disturb anyone.
OP’s partner doesn’t understand this distinction and thinks them getting irritated is still overboard.
The couple have been going back and forth with this argument for some time and OP is determined to find out if they’re truly the unfair one.

This situation involves two people experiencing the same illness in different ways.
She’s physically suffering from the cough itself, unable to sleep, constantly uncomfortable, and dealing with the actual health issue.
OP, on the other hand, is experiencing it as an inescapable noise that’s been constant for seven days.
While both may have points to support their arguments, the most important thing is that OP does everything possible to take good care of their sick partner in this period.
No one wants to go through such discomfort, nor does anyone wish to see their partner suffer as well. We do hope they can get through this with love.
