Breatharian Couple Refuse To Eat Food As They Believe In Living Only On Light and Air
I don't know about you, but if I am hungry for more than a few hours, I need actual food.
We all know that food is a huge part of the survival of mankind. I mean, if there is no food, how do you get the energy to do anything? Let me tell you something: you won't have any! It is impossible to not eat and still have a taste for life.
I get that all of us are different; some are vegans, some are vegetarians, and then there are people like me who just love any kind of food as long as it is good! Life is only so long, so why not eat? This couple decided that food and water are not that necessary to survive, so they went all breatharian.
Allow me to explain.
1. Breatharian?
Meet the married couple Akahi Ricardo and Camila Castello, who believe that humans don't need food and water to survive, but just some light and energy that Mother Earth gives to us.
News Dog MediaThis term, Breatharian, means that they claim to be emotionally and physically healthy from their food-free lifestyle, and because they live off of just 'air and light,' they don't have to buy any groceries, allowing them to travel the world and consume more light as they go.
Camila explained to The Sun that: “Humans can easily be without food – as long as they are connected to the energy that exists in all things and through breathing.” This sounds like some yoga-type stuff, and I cannot believe that anyone could accept this, especially if you love food! She also added: “For three years, Akahi and I didn't eat anything at all, and now we only eat occasionally, like if we're in a social situation or if I simply want to taste a fruit.”
2. And we have more of them
So they went along and reproduced two more humans: a five-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter.
News Dog MediaNow, how could she be pregnant but not eat? Well, she claims that she only ate five times during the entire pregnancy! How is this even possible?!
“I didn’t feel the need or desire to eat solid food during the entire nine months, so I only ate five times, all of which were in social situations,” she said. “Hunger was a foreign sensation to me, so I fully lived on light and ate nothing.”
She further claimed that her son would be fine, as he is completely nourished by her love and will grow to be healthy. I'm sorry, but doesn't a child need a lot of food to be able to grow, or am I getting this whole thing wrong?
3. What a great family
Well, it turns out that both her children are healthy and growing, and right after they started to eat solid food, Camila began to “explore the joy of food in small quantities with my children as they grew,” she said.

They started to become breatharians in 2008 by following a 21-day Breatharian Process.
This “process” goes as follows:
“For the first seven days, nothing is consumed except air.” I don't understand; I breathe already every second of every day. How do you “consume” more air?
“For the next seven days, some water and diluted juice.” Hmm, okay, some water and juice to fill the tummy, but it's already 14 days without anything substantial. I wouldn't be the best person to live with.
“For the last seven days, diluted juice and water.” Yeah, I would have probably ripped out all my hair by now.
She claimed that she ate more during her second pregnancy, but it was way, way less than a woman should consume during pregnancy. I mean, you are eating for two, but luckily her daughter is healthy and growing strong.
She said, “Now, Akahi and I eat very sporadically – perhaps three or four times per week at the most,” and added, “I might have a few vegetables, a juice, or a bite of an apple with my children. Sometimes we have a glass of water, too.”
Well, that's just great to see that they are at least eating something!
4. Apple sometimes does fall far from the tree
Luckily, the children love food, as Camila said: “We would never try to change them, and we let them eat whatever they want – whether that be juices, vegetables, pizza, or ice cream!”

It is good to know that the children aren't forced into becoming breatharians and that their parents want them to explore food and have a good and healthy relationship with it. However, she further added that “It would be unfair to impose Breatharianism upon our children now, but maybe as they grow, they will get deeper into the practices,” she added.
5. Liar, liar pants on fire?
We all need to respect each other's decisions and lifestyles, but this cannot be real, can it? I mean, if you don't eat or drink water, you will die; that's a known fact. Just watch a survival movie, and you will see it is a necessary component to survive.

Thanks to Snopes, who did research about 'breatharians,' we now know that people have died trying to become or experiment with being breatharians, and obviously, they do not tell the truth about how much they eat and how often, because there is no way that someone could just survive on the “light of the universe.”
So let's all just live and eat whatever the hell we want. Life is too short for anything else!
You might look at a couple and think to yourself, 'Wow, they're weirdos.' The truth is, we're all a little bit weird, and it's simply perfect when we meet a significant other who complements our own weirdness with their quirky traits.
