French Illustrator Reimagines Disney Characters Facing Ecological Disasters, and They Could Not Be Closer to the Truth

A French illustrator redraws Disney characters into scenes that depict how they might face ecological disasters in the real world.

If there is one thing that we love about the artistic side of the Internet, it's the way artists have a knack for transforming classics into comical content that always keeps us entertained. We all enjoy a little twist on our favorite classic movies and characters, especially with Disney content.

Baptiste Drausin (also known as Billy Drausin), a self-taught French illustrator based in Paris, has contributed to this art genre by releasing a series of artworks that depict Disney characters in situations where they face ecological disasters, stating that he loves mixing pop culture with environmental issues. In an old Inktober entry, he dedicated the monthly challenge to creating illustrations of Disney characters and superheroes confronting these disasters in ink.

With his newer illustrations, he has opted to take the digital route in depicting these moments for all the people on the Internet to see. Check them out below!

These illustrations certainly evoke feelings of both entertainment and sadness because, even though they are just artworks, they undeniably highlight real-life issues in our world that remain unresolved due to human greed and apathy. It's unfortunate that these illustrations shed light on such problems, but it is undoubtedly an effective way to raise awareness about the environmental issues we are currently facing!

Kudos to Baptiste for turning his works of art into something that informs people about the problems we need to tackle at present. Share these illustrations with your family and friends to see!
