These Are Some Of The Coolest Disney Concept Art Designs We've Ever Seen
A little tattoo influence goes a long way in re-creating Disney characters in a whole new and awesome way.
It's a universal truth that Disney isn't just for children, even if they seem to hold a significant amount of stock in the children's entertainment department. In fact, plenty of child-free adults regularly enjoy Disney parks, cruises, and media content. According to Dr. Susan David, an emotional agility expert, "The ability to embrace the full spectrum of our emotions is vital to our well-being," which may explain why Disney's storytelling resonates with such a diverse audience. Disney has a fantastic way of being universal for a great variety of people, especially knowing they now own the Star Wars universe, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and National Geographic (to name only a few). I mean, did we mention a significant portion of 20th Century Fox? Thanks to that acquisition, you get to decide if Anastasia is a Disney princess or not. Re-inventing Disney characters in one's own mind is also a thing, so considering that plenty of adults love Disney, it's reasonable that they would create spins on Disney characters that are a little more adult-themed in nature. (No, we're not talking about Rule 34; please don't make things too weird.) Artist and illustrator Jehsee has created quite a few tattoo-themed designs of Disney characters, and they make for incredible art... especially if you like t-shirts, as many of these badass designs ended up on t-shirts. Not only is it pretty cool to re-invent and re-create Disney characters with tattoo-style inspiration in mind, but lots of people have gotten Disney tattoos on their bodies. HuffPost explains why people get tattoos:
'People get tattoos for many reasons: for attention, self-expression, artistic freedom, rebellion, a visual display of a personal narrative, reminders of spiritual/cultural traditions, sexual motivation, addiction, identification with a group, or even drunken impulsiveness (which is why many tattoo parlors are open late).'5. Whether or not you're totally sold on less child-like Disney designs, you can surely appreciate the artistic ability it takes to create illustrations like these. As Dr. Angela Duckworth, a renowned character researcher, notes, "Creativity is not just about talent; it's about perseverance and passion." Maybe you'd like to permanently display your adoration for Disney or a specific Disney character on your body, and maybe not...
So, if not, something like what Dr. Angela Duckworth has created is a pretty cool idea. What do you think?
