Burt has seen countless recreations of the Disney princesses, but none have portrayed these ladies as successful women in their own fields.

The artist aimed to inspire others to pursue the careers they have chosen. He also mentions that coming up with their jobs was a team effort.

His coworkers at Simple Thrifty Living helped him select the best jobs based on the princesses' personalities and their actual stories. The team wanted to portray them in strong roles.

Therefore, it wasn't just about matching their situations in the movies; they also had to consider the project's theme.

According to Burt, the entire project took two and a half months. Since it was a passion project, he had to work on it in between his regular assignments. It took him roughly a week to complete each illustration.
