Illustrator Reimagines 8 Disney Princesses As Witches, And They Are Truly Enchanting

This time, the princesses are not the ones getting cursed or enchanted.

It's always the witches who cast curses on or enchant the princesses in various classic Disney movies. We've seen Maleficent's spindle, the poisoned apple, Anna's frozen heart, and Ursula's spell that took Ariel's voice away.

But what if this time, it's the Disney Princesses' turn to be the witches? Fortunately, we get to see this reimagination as digital illustrator Emma G makes it happen.

Reimaginings are always fun to look at. Aside from seeing our favorite characters with a twist, there's also a sense of reliving the magic of our younger days.

The artist, who is also a Disney fan, transformed eight princesses into spellbinding witches. And boy, do they look beautiful and stunning!

Emma G, who goes by the username ekg.arts on Instagram, has always loved creating fan art. She says it allows her to remain faithful to the source material.

The artist also loves the dark villain aesthetic, so she combined this concept with the Disney Princesses she grew up with.

So expect to see 3D fan art of Anna, Elsa, Merida, and Rapunzel. But in the meantime, let's enjoy the witch versions of the Disney Princesses.

Pocahontas

What inspired Emma to draw the princesses with a twist is her fellow artist Yudelmis San Emeterio. What she saw from the Cuban illustrator were Disney glow-ups.

Belle

The witch bookworm. What spells will she study?

With her love for books, the artist felt that Belle was giving her some Hermione (from the Harry Potter series) vibes. If Belle were a witch, she'd probably be fast friends with the muggle-born witch.

The digital artist really enjoyed creating this set.

She completed the 2D characters first, as they are faster to create. Afterward, she drew the 3D characters.

If you look at her Instagram account, each photo features a timelapse of her process. Her works have also been featured on the YouTube channel called TheThings.

Aside from Disney Princesses, Emma G also creates fan art of anime characters and develops her original works too. Check out her Instagram account for more Disney goodness.
