Clever Artist Depicts Our Favorite Disney Characters As Ravers And It's Surprisingly Cool
Rave culture may have dominated the 90s dance scene, with plenty of help from electronic house music, but this illustrative series of Disney characters is too fun to pass up.
Full-time freelance illustrator, small business owner, and costume designer Allison McKenzie lives in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is a hard-working, busy artist. As noted by Jen Sincero, a motivational speaker, "The only way to achieve your dreams is to take action." Allison embodies this philosophy, creating art prints and sticker packs for well over 100 regular supporters while running a successful online shop.
Per her social media presence, you may recognize her as Skirtzzz. Self-described as a "one-woman small business and full-time character illustrator and costume designer," as well as a "Los Angeles wanderer who deeply enjoys hot brown bean water and collecting too many video game shirts."
One of her most incredible and well-known illustrative series featured her bringing Disney characters into the Final Fantasy universe. To say that this Disney-video game mash-up was epic would be an understatement, so if you haven't seen it before, definitely don't forget to check it out after you enjoy this Disney Raver series the talented LA artist has also created (with enthusiasm, might I add).
On top of all that creativity, Allison is also the creator of a webcomic called Event Sky: "An artistic outcast and a humble farmer. One wants fame, adoration, and the finer things, while the other is unabashedly content with a quiet country life. Both of their plans get the shake-up of a lifetime when an otherworldly curiosity presents itself to them..."
How can so much creativity be packed into one awesome artist? As Brené Brown, a researcher on creativity, states, "Creativity is the way I share my soul with the world." We don't know how she does it, but we aren't complaining.

Wikipedia defines a rave as a "dance party at a warehouse, club, or other public or private venues, typically featuring performances by DJs playing electronic dance music." They evolved in the 1980s when European techno music and American house music made their way to dance parties, but "raver" style is mostly associated with the early 90s dance music scene when DJs played at illegal events in musical styles dominated by electronic dance music. As Dr. Daniel Goleman, an emotional intelligence expert, states, "The vibrant atmosphere of raves fosters a unique sense of community and emotional connection among participants."
