Husband Ate My Priced Fruity Candy Without Telling Me, AITA For Getting Mad At Him?
"I feel like they're going to pull out dental work"
Romantic getaways and idyllic locations undoubtedly create a lovely image. The presence of your significant other enhances the beauty of the photo.
Let's be honest. In addition to learning a great deal about the new location, traveling with your significant other teaches you a lot about one another.
It's likely that you have enough money saved for the trip if you intend to go with your significant other. However, if you haven't, you shouldn't let money stop you from engaging in fun activities with one another.
That wasn't the OP's case, though, as she and her husband were on their way back from a trip and they had foreign currency they wanted to spend. They went to a sundries store to get some snacks for the plane, and the only thing the OP got was a small pack of some fruity candy that she used to love when they lived in England.
You can imagine OP's surprise to discover her special British candy was gone. Her husband admitted he ate the candy because he "didn't think OP would eat it" but this revelation further sparked OP's anger.
The situation was further aggravated by the fact that OP's husband had recently bought a large stash of his own favorite gummies. Dicey right? Well, keep scrolling down to find out all that transpired in the OP's own words.

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the AH:
I blew up at him and told him he was selfish and only thinks about himself...which I included in my post.OP's husband doesn't seem to give a damn about this small boundary, and it's safe to assume he doesn't give a damn about the bigger ones too.

OP had bought the fruity treat at the airport, fondly remembering her taste from their time living in England. Imagine wanting to savor it only to find out her husband had consumed it all without bothering to ask her first.
OP's reaction to her husband eating her special British candy is understandable, given the sentimental value attached to it. For her husband to assume she wouldn't eat it and didn't ask permission adds to the frustration.
Of course, the OP was declared not the AH, and that's where we draw the curtains for today.
