Disney's Hercules Revelations That Prove It's An Underrated Movie Worthy Of Its Own Laurels
"Making the muses in Hercules a Motown group is the smartest thing anyone's ever done."
When you think about hard tasks, you’d weigh those you believe you can accomplish against those that seem almost impossible—tasks that you think would only be achieved with Herculean strength.
You might have heard about this Greek god who just so happened to be the Disney character that had to go the distance. All of his efforts were aimed at finding himself and being recognized as the hero-god he was born to be.
Hercules was a film released by Disney in 1997. This tale revolves around the son of Zeus, who was kidnapped by Hades’ cronies and stripped of almost all of his godly abilities.
He had to be raised by mortals, and although he loved them dearly, he never felt like he truly belonged there. He then embarked on a quest, seeking help from a 'gods and goddesses trainer' while also stumbling across a human he was destined to love.
The film is a classic animated feature, filled with songs that evoke nostalgia. It has been a part of Disney discussions and general online content as well.
Now, of course, with all this talk, there are bound to be hot takes about the movie. Whether it’s regarding the differences in the origin story or the lovely muses, Hercules has certainly sparked conversations and questions.
