Mexican Artist Has Given Disney Princesses A Mexican Makeover And They're Spicy
"It took me almost 2 months to complete this project 'Princesas a la Mexicana.'"
Check out these beautiful and unique illustrations by Mexican artist Aida Sofia Barba Flores. Flores is a freelance illustrator who has been influencing people with her stunning art for the last 16 years.
Hailing from Guadalajara, Mexico, Flores is an illustrator, character designer, 2D builder, and cleanup artist. These illustrations of the Disney princesses stand out from other fan art because she has given them a Mexican makeover.
Explaining her illustrations, she said, "It took me almost 2 months to complete this project 'Princesas a la Mexicana': Disney princesses in traditional Mexican dresses. I love how they turned out."
She further adds, "I didn’t want them to be Disney princesses in Mexican costumes, so I changed their skin, hair, and eye colors; that way, they look more authentic." As noted by Dr. Carol Dweck, a renowned psychologist and author, "Creativity is not just about having ideas; it's about making those ideas happen," which perfectly encapsulates Flores' artistic journey. How cool is that?!
