Debby Ryan And Josh Dun Announce They Are Becoming Parents

Debby Ryan and Josh Dun are starting a new chapter as they prepare to welcome their first child together. The Jessie alum and the Twenty One Pilots drummer announced the news on Sept. 7, sharing a carousel of photos on Instagram, including a sonogram and a sweet shot of Dun resting his hand on Ryan’s baby bump.
Their caption read simply: “dun&dun +one.”
A Love Story Years in the Making
Ryan and Dun’s relationship began back in 2013, when they met through a mutual friend and went on their first date. Ryan later revealed in a 2018 Instagram post that Dun had even learned how to tie a bowtie for the occasion.
The pair went Instagram official that September, but their relationship would be on-and-off for years before finding solid ground. In December 2018, Dun proposed in a New Zealand tree house, marking the start of their next chapter.
One year later, on New Year’s Eve 2019, the couple quietly tied the knot in Austin, Texas, planning their wedding in just 28 days. Ryan later told Vogue that the sudden passing of her Jessie costar Cameron Boyce influenced their decision not to wait.
“It didn’t feel important to wait anymore, to stop being busy, or for things to line up perfectly — intending to do things is not nearly as powerful as doing, as we aren’t promised tomorrow,” she explained.
Dun described the wedding as the “perfect balance,” recalling chills as he watched Ryan walk down the aisle.

Now based in Columbus, Ohio, the couple live in what they’ve called their “fantasy treehouse home.” Ryan told Architectural Digest in 2023 that it was her idea to relocate to Dun’s hometown after visiting his family.
“We’re so inspired by this place. Building this home, inviting people into it…the whole process has created a new sense of us,” she said.
While Ryan is best known for her acting career on shows like Jessie and Radio Rebel, Dun has carved out his place in music as the drummer of Twenty One Pilots. The band, now made up of Dun and vocalist Tyler Joseph, earned their first Grammy Award in 2017 for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Stressed Out.”

Over the years, Ryan and Dun have publicly expressed their admiration for one another. In December 2023, for their fourth wedding anniversary, Ryan posted a heartfelt message:
“I fell in love this year more. please never die and never stop kissing me.” Dun shared his own tribute, calling her “the love of my life.”They made their red carpet debut as a married couple in May 2021 at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Ryan later reflected on Instagram: “I’d say one of the things I’m most proud of is making the best person I know My Husband.”
