Lady Refuses Clothes To Half-Naked Male Stranger, Brother Tells Her To Show More Empathy If She Wants Guys To Like Her
How far should you go to help someone you barely know?
Halloween on college campuses often comes with frenzy. You can expect loud parties, costumes that barely count as clothing, and students trying to have fun like it’s their last day.
For one college student, what started as a quiet night of gaming and watching her favorite Halloween movies turned into an awkward moral dilemma that she didn’t see coming.
It was past 1 am when her roommate stormed in with an ex, Ryan, and his friend…both in skimpy Halloween costumes showing off muscles and pretending to be a h*t cop and a WWE wrestler.
While the roommates disappeared into a room, the friend, whom she had barely met, stayed on the couch.
He explained he was the designated driver and just wanted to charge his phone until Ryan was ready to leave. There was one problem tho…he was barely dressed and freezing.
He asked if he could borrow a hoodie or some sweats. She said no, explaining that she didn’t know him well enough to feel comfortable lending clothes.
She offered a small blanket from her roommate’s closet, but it was far from adequate. Regardless, he had no choice and ended up falling asleep on the couch.
The next morning, her older brother saw the scene and immediately criticized her, claiming she missed countless opportunities to “be a good person.”
He suggested alternatives she could have done, like letting him borrow her clothes or switching places to the couch herself.
Now, the student is left wondering if she was truly unempathetic or just set healthy boundaries.

From what we can see, Redditors are split on this one.
On one hand, we have people who feel that she did the right thing by not lending her clothes to a complete stranger, especially since he was dressed inappropriately in her personal space.
On the other hand, some Redditors see reason with her brother. From their point of view, all he asked for was warm clothing for the night, and she had the means but refused to help.
Finally, some Redditors can’t seem to understand why he needed to stay over, knowing fully well that Ryan was safe. He could have left for his home, where a warm bed would have been waiting.
Regardless, this is a learning opportunity for everyone involved.
