People Are Reacting To The Outdated Abortion Texas Restrictions And Here Are 30 Of Their Ideas & Opinions
Texas Senate Bill 8, also known as the Heartbeat Act, makes abortions performed after 6 weeks illegal.
Individuals living in democratic nations take great pride in their rights and freedoms, such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to privacy, and the right to education. Furthermore, a vast majority of them reserve the right to make decisions about their own bodies.
Tragically, it must be noted that while this applies to the overwhelming majority, it does not apply to all, as in some cases, the government makes decisions regarding whether or not a person can have a child. Beginning in September 2021, all pregnancy terminations that occur after six weeks of pregnancy became illegal.
This is the most restrictive abortion law in the country. Furthermore, it conflicts with the Supreme Court, which prohibits states from making abortion illegal when the fetus is between 22 and 24 weeks old.
Texas Senate Bill 8, also known as the Heartbeat Act, makes abortions performed after six weeks—when the fetus has a detectable heartbeat—illegal. An unborn child begins to have a detectable heartbeat around the six-week mark, which is when most women are unaware that they are pregnant.
Additionally, private individuals may sue any woman who has had an abortion, as well as any abortion provider or anyone else involved in the process, and receive a monetary award of up to $10,000.
