22 Intriguing Disney Fan Art Pieces That Show A Different Side Of The Magic Kingdom

These fan arts offer a completely different take on childhood Disney classics.

Disney and its stories and characters have been significant parts of our childhoods and those of many other children across the world. As children, we simply got lost in the magic of it all.

We weren't critical; we let the magic take us along for the ride. That's what Disney does.

As we grew older, however, we allowed our minds to wander and our imaginations to take over. Sometimes, this manifests as creating alternate endings for our favorite films, and other times, it involves imagining our beloved characters as entirely different people.

This is where fan art comes in. It's the perfect avenue for artistic Disney fans to express their ideas to the world. As with everything, though, not every piece of fan art turns out as great as one might expect.

Some images look like a child just scribbled them, while others appear to have been created by someone with a score to settle with Disney. Regardless, every single one of them is intriguing.

Here are a few perfect examples. Some may leave you shaking your head in disappointment, while others might leave your mouth hanging open in astonishment.

Whatever the case, enjoy!

1. Savage Vanellope Von Schweetz

Vanellope Von Schweetz was known for glitching in Wreck-It Ralph, so it makes sense that part of her face is missing here. However, the creepy creature she's riding is far from the cutesy image she had in the film. In fact, the artist seems to have transformed Vanellope into some kind of warrior set on destroying everything in her path.

And we admit, it does look pretty cool.

2. Wolverine Mickey

There have been plenty of versions of badass Mickeys, but this one is definitely our favorite. However, this Mickey-Wolverine mix might not be suitable for kids.

He'd be a perfect addition to a Marvel comic, though.

3. Ariel Rebels

If you're interested in seeing a more steampunk, gothic, rebellious version of Ariel, then this is the fan art for you. The artist really didn't hold back and put Ariel through all the things most parents would consider acts of rebellion, including shaving half her head.

4. Rapunzel Has a Score to Settle

This Rapunzel is far from the sweet and joyous princess we know. She has been tainted by the cruelty of the real world and those around her, and she's ready to settle her score.

This time, though, she's not just going to wait for anyone to come to her aid. She's going to find her own justice.

5. Mickey Mouse, the Slayer of Titans

Attack on Titan didn't have a particularly kid-friendly story, but it is a good anime, and placing Mickey front and center in all of that is just amazing. Here, the mouse doesn't look joyful or cheerful at all.

He looks like the mouse you wouldn't want to mess with.

6. Childhood Gone

Lilo and Stitch and Mike and Boo were some of the sweetest pairings in Disney. They were so cute and innocent, and now, they're not.

This image will be burned into our memories forever, and we don't like it. It destroys the adorable image of these pairs that we've come to love so much, and there's just something off about how they're all posed.

7. Wish-Drunk Genie

This is what the genie would look like if he were playing for the other team. And if he were, we're pretty sure Aladdin wouldn't stand a chance.

Just look at how menacingly crazy the genie looks here.

8. Disney Drag Race

A lot of us didn't see it before, but the Disney princesses actually present a perfect opportunity for drag art, and now we have it. Now, these princesses can serve as role models for every kid who wants to be a princess.

9. Ariel Turns Bad

In this picture, it's not Ariel who needs help anymore; it's actually Eric who needs saving from Ariel.

Who could have ever imagined Ariel as a pirate, though? It's just brilliant, if you ask us.

10. The Menacing Ursula

If you thought Ursula was already terrifying before, take a good look at this picture. This is the real evil Ursula, ready to give you nightmares.

Imagine this Ursula with pirate Ariel, though. That would be something out of a Grimm's fairy tale instead of a Disney story for kids.

And we would definitely watch that as adults.

11. Minnie Trying Out All the Villain Roles

Minnie has always been sweet, but not in these pictures. It seems she's taking on all the female villain roles in the Disney universe.

We're not going to lie; we kind of like it.

12. "Drink Me"

This fan art takes a pretty dark turn with Hatter and Alice. The artist behind it transformed Hatter into a perfect villain and placed Alice in a situation where she might never escape Wonderland again.

13. Cinderella's Obsession

This fan art seems to represent what might have happened if Cinderella just didn't make it in time and lost her mind due to all the magic inflicted upon her. It's a ghastly sight, that's for sure, and it might not leave our dreams anytime soon.

14. The Bearded Mermaid

We're not sure about you, but we find this fan art absolutely hilarious. If Ariel looked like this, we think the film would have become a comedy rather than a fairytale love story.

15. Sea Monsters Attack Rapunzel

We're not really sure where all the ideas for this picture came from, but it seems like Rapunzel is being dragged into the ocean by some kind of monster. Whoever created this must have a pretty vivid imagination because we really can't follow how it all came to that point for the poor princess.

16. Snow White x Jurassic Park

We don't think many people have ever wanted to see a Snow White x Jurassic Park crossover, and there's a good reason for that, as proven by this fan art. There's just no reconciling a dinosaur being Snow White.

17. "I Want to Be a Real Boy"

The fairy godmother in Pinocchio always seemed so nice and sweet, but what if all that was just a front? Have you ever wondered that?

Well, here's a clearer image to help you visualize it. We have to say, it's pretty disturbing and completely alters the Pinocchio story.

18. Meerkat Princesses

This meerkat Disney princess mix has to be one of the cutest fan art concepts out there. They're all so adorable, and their characters continue to shine through their meerkat masks.

19. Prince Ariel

We love the idea behind this because love shouldn't be exclusive, right? This gives a nice reimagining of the classic story that we all know.

20. Creepy Pluto

We could have gone our whole lives without seeing Pluto this way, but now that we have, it has been burned into our memories. Now, it'll haunt our dreams for a long time.

21. Snow White at Her Wit’s End

Whoever drew this must not have liked Snow White very much. Here, it looks like things didn't work out for her, and she didn't get the happy ending she should have received.

22. Tigger Gets Hungry

Tigger and Pooh were the best of friends, but they were still animals, and when it comes to the laws of nature, one will always be bound to hunt the other. Still, that doesn't mean we needed to see the image of these two friends in that situation.

Couldn't Pooh just share some of his honey? Because this image of Tigger is really messed up.

The imagination of the artists behind these fan arts is absolutely wild. Never in a million years would we have thought of some of these, and we're kind of thankful for that because there are some images we don't actually want to remember.

Still, these artists have talent, and they deserve the attention they receive.
