14 Words That Mean Something Totally Different If You're An Australian
If you're planning to visit Australia anytime soon, you'd better learn a few words so you can understand the lingo!
Australia is one of the strangest places you'll ever choose to visit, and it's not just because of the searing heat or the many creatures that seem to want to kill you.
The language spoken there can be confusing, silly, and almost sound like downright nonsense, especially if you live somewhere that uses the same words but in a different way.
Unless you're from Australia (or even New Zealand), some of the most commonly used Australian words could leave your brain all twisted. So here's a compiled list of just a few words to show you how simple it all really is.

What it means to the world:
A popular brand of kids' doll with super unrealistic body proportions.
What it means to Aussies:
Barbecue. Now, don't be mistaken; you might hear Australians say barbecue as well, but nothing beats a good old barbie.

Piss means alcohol. Having a drink is known as 'getting on the piss,' so don't be alarmed if you hear someone say they're about to go and 'drink some piss.' They're just getting drunk.
