Trans Redditor Asks If They Are Wrong For Not Walking The Dog Because They Are In Pain From Period Cramps
"My brother has been making up excuses literally every time it’s his turn."

Having a family pet can be a great source of joy and companionship, but it also comes with certain responsibilities. Taking care of a dog can be challenging, but it's important to remember that it's everyone's responsibility - not just one individual's
OP, a 14-year-old trans boy, had been walking the dog for the past few months, even when he was on his period and couldn't walk without pain. His 23-year-old brother, however, had been making excuses every time it was his turn.
Today, their mother had specifically asked his brother to walk the dog before going to work. Hours later, his brother asked OP to walk the dog, claiming that he had sprained his leg while fixing something around the house.
OP reminded him that their mother had said it was his brother's turn but also mentioned that his cramps were really bad, and he genuinely couldn't get up. His brother became angry and refused to walk the dog at all, so OP gave up and didn't argue.
When their mother arrived home and asked if the dog had been taken out for a walk, his brother blamed OP for not walking the dog. OP mentioned how he had been walking the dog for the past few months but was ultimately insulted and went to his room.
Later, his mother came in and called him an AH for not walking the dog. OP was left wondering if he was the asshole in this situation.

Someone...

ESH indeed

This Redditor shared some valuable advice:

Someone asked, and OP replied

Who wanted the dog in the first place?

OP should have a good talk with their mom

Some dogs hold it in, and it can become a health issue

A dog needs to be fed, groomed, taken out for walks, and otherwise cared for. This means that all members of the family, regardless of age or gender, should share in the work required to ensure that the pet is properly taken care of.
It's important to be understanding and compassionate when it comes to physical limitations, such as cramps related to menstruation, but it's also important to ensure that everyone is doing their fair share. Working together as a family to care for the dog is the best way to ensure that everyone is happy and that the pet is getting the love and attention it deserves.
