28 Adorable Photos Of Stray Dogs Found On The Streets Of Cape Verde Have Been Shared By The Photographer Who Took Them

by Maryjane 6 days ago

Zoltan is a passionate portrait and travel photographer who loves to do a ton of dog pictures. Yes, Zoltan loves capturing dogs, but whenever he travels, he photographs the landscape and the day-to-day lives of individuals.

He says that he doesn’t even take his portrait lenses along with him since he needs to save as much room as possible. So he typically takes his camera and his 18-35 mm lens.

Years ago, Zoltan and his then-fiancee Agnes traveled out to Sal, Cape Verde, and when they arrived, they were stunned "to see the huge number of stray dogs there." Zoltan then realized that he needed to capture them.

"I thought I made a mistake not bringing my portrait lenses with me, but the funny thing is that in the end, I was happy that I could only use my wide-angle lens. I had to get close to them and we had to have a connection, and I loved that," Zoltan said.

The pictures are more similar to environmental representations, which show more about how these stray dogs live. And it is so darn sad.

The photographer says that "all the dogs were so friendly and so calm. Some of them were very playful, and some were a little sad."

Here are some of the pictures below.

He added that some of them had their collars on, so it was expected that they had owners, "but they were still hanging around with the others on the streets or on the beach." The photographer also thinks that the locals see them as a part of their daily lives as they feed them every now and then (tourists also feed them as well).

He started photographing in 2013. Back then, it was his hobby, and he did it for around a year. Then, he began posting his photographs on Facebook, where they started drawing attention.

At first, he would, for the most part, shoot portraits and landscapes, and "he was doing 365 and 52-week photo projects on the side," which assisted him with his photography abilities.
