15 Actors With Weird Age Gap Between Them And Their On-Screen Kids
This is completely normal in Hollywood.
Some movie and TV parents are a lot closer in age to their on-screen kids than viewers might expect. That gap can make a familiar scene feel surprisingly strange once you know the real numbers.
This list rounds up actors who played parents, children, and other relatives while being only a few years apart in real life. From sitcom families to big-screen dramas, the age differences are often tiny enough to raise eyebrows.
Keep scrolling, because some of these casting choices are even more surprising than the characters themselves.

You’ve probably noticed that we have only actresses on our list. There is a reason for this.
The weird age gap between on-screen parents and kids is not as common for male stars. That’s probably because Hollywood still operates under the logic that a woman must look youthful.
So, they will choose a 50-year-old actress to play a 60-year-old woman. A 40-year-old woman will be played by a 30-year-old actress, etc.
We have come a long way as a society, but unfortunately, some things still haven’t changed.
