Method actors immerse themselves in their characters and spend considerable time studying them. Now, imagine getting into the minds of ten characters and portraying each one differently… it is extremely challenging.

Of course, most of these films are light-hearted entertainment, but every once in a while, a truly serious movie comes along that dazzles both critics and audiences with the actors' performances. It is true that some actors are so talented and versatile that they can play multiple characters in the same film.

Not only that, but it makes us feel as if we are watching entirely different people each time. We've compiled some of the best examples of performers who excel in their craft.

Cate Blanchett, Tom Hanks, Hugo Weaving, and Mike Myers are just a few of them. Take a look at what we've prepared for you.

2. Tom Hanks - "Cloud Atlas"

The characters in David Mitchell's novels are reincarnations of a single soul, and in the film, that connection is established with a cast that moves from story to story. In addition to these four distinct identities, Tom Hanks skillfully portrayed two more: the hotel manager and a Timothy Cavendish impersonator.

4. Mike Myers - "Austin Powers and Goldmember"

Mike Myers is a fantastic comedian. Despite the fact that critics were harsh on this Bond movie parody, many people still enjoy watching it. Unfortunately, he hasn't had any memorable roles since then.

5. Cheech Marin - "From Dusk Till Dawn"

Cheech Marin, a Mexican comedian, portrayed three roles in the cult favorite so convincingly that many people didn't realize they were all him. Chet Pussy, with his legendary calls, was undoubtedly the most memorable.

6. Eddie Murphy - "Norbit"

Eddie Murphy is another actor who enjoys portraying all of the major roles and completely reinventing himself in the process. He did the same thing in Coming to America and The Nutty Professor.

7. Noomi Rapace - "Seven Sisters"

Noomi Rapace plays all of the septuplets in this film, which takes place in a totalitarian country where parents are only allowed to have one child. Each sister leaves the house only once a week and is named accordingly. The actress's task is made more challenging by the fact that it is a TV show rather than a movie.

8. Ralph Fiennes - "Sunshine"

Ralph brilliantly portrays three generations of the Sonnenschein family as they face numerous challenges and tragedies, including WWII, concentration camps, and the 1956 Hungarian Uprising.

9. James McAvoy - "Split"

Kevin Crumb has 23 personalities, but only seven of them are visible to the audience: Dennis, Patricia, Hedwig, Barry, Orwell, Jade, and Beast—each one distinct and unlike the others. McAvoy's performance drew significant appreciation from reviewers and spectators alike.

Well, here’s to our incredible artists. Actors are often underestimated because it’s hard to notice when someone is a good actor.

You kind of expect them to be. However, on the other hand, you can spot bad acting right away.

And that’s the tragedy of their calling. No one notices when they are good, but only when they deliver a poor performance.
