AITA for Playing Slot Machine Game on My Tablet?

AITA for playing a casino game on my tablet while my wife thinks it's our thing? Reddit weighs in on this relationship dilemma.

A 28-year-old woman refused to stop doing one small thing, and it spiraled fast, because the “small thing” was basically her casino hobby, but on a tablet. In this Reddit post, OP and his wife already have a shared routine: they hit the casino together and play slot machines, the real-deal kind, as a couple.

Then OP downloaded a slot machine game for his tablet, not for real money, just for fun while passing time. His wife got upset anyway, saying it felt like he was playing “their games” without her, even though she was not being excluded from anything at the casino. The argument got uglier when OP said it felt like she was using her “feelings” to control what he does.

Now it’s a question of whether he’s being reasonable, or whether she’s right that their shared thing should stay shared.

Original Post

AITA My wife and I go to the casino every now and again and play slot machines together. Well recently I downloaded a slot machine game on my phone for passing the time.

It is not real money, but does have some slots on there my wife and I play together at the casino. She is upset because I am playing the slot machine games on my tablet.

She says it makes her feel like im playing "our games" without her. We got into an argument because I told her I felt like she was using her "feelings" to control what I was doing.

AITA for downloading and playing the slot video games for fun on my own?

This is similar to the family heirloom fight, where OP considered donating an heirloom watch for charity.

OP and his wife already play slots together at the casino, so the tablet game hits like a rule change out of nowhere.

The wife’s main problem is not the money, it’s the vibe, she feels like he’s playing “our games” without her.

When OP snaps back that she’s using “feelings” to control him, the argument shifts from slots to respect.

With their casino routine still intact but the tablet game now in the mix, everyone is stuck asking who gets to decide what “together” means.
