Alternate Titles With Entirely Different Meanings Are Given To Movies After Being Dubbed Into Another Language
Sometimes, the original title is just not as captivating or meaningful for other cultures.
Movie titles do not always survive the trip from one language to another in one piece. Sometimes the change is small, but other times the new name feels like it belongs to a completely different film.
That is what makes international dubbing and localization so entertaining, because studios often adjust titles to fit local slang, avoid confusion, or simply sound more appealing to a new audience. The result can be a version that is funny, strange, or wildly misleading compared with the original.
These examples show just how far a title can shift once it crosses a border. Some are clever, some are baffling, and a few are almost impossible to connect to the movie they represent.

Things get lost in translation, but to successfully reach a worldwide audience, you're forced to make adaptations and changes that will make it much easier for everyone to understand what the movie is all about.
Although some of these names are quite odd, you would never be able to guess which movie it was just from the name alone. Maybe that's what they were going for in some of the movie posters above.
Regardless, it was interesting to see some of these movie title changes. The world is so diverse and different, and it's refreshing to see things like this.
