Redditors Support Lady Who Got Angry At Her Friend’s Boyfriend For Claiming To Be A Strict Vegan
Not everyone who claims to be a strict vegan actually adheres to it...
Some dinner guests know exactly how to make a host regret saying yes. In this Reddit story, one woman spent hours preparing a roast dinner, only to watch her friend’s boyfriend act like his vegan diet mattered right up until dessert.
The boyfriend had asked for a separate meal, so the host made both a traditional roast and a vegan version, plus a dessert he could eat too. But when he casually reached for her non-vegan dessert anyway, the whole evening took a sharp turn, and the host snapped after realizing how much time, money, and effort had been wasted.
Now the AITA community has plenty to say about the boyfriend’s behavior. Read on.
"Was I Wrong For Getting Annoyed With My Friend’s Vegan Boyfriend?"
Sam MoqadamWhat stands out in this Redditor's story is the disparity between the boyfriend's public image and his nonchalant attitude at dinner after demanding a different meal because he is vegan. It's no surprise that the OP was enraged.
Thus, the Redditor turned to the AITA community for their thoughts on this issue. Here’s the story in full.

Making the host go through the stress of keeping you satisfied and, worst of all, stealing the host's dessert was utter rudeness and cognitive dissonance. It's perfectly acceptable to consume animal products, but don’t go around presenting yourself as a strict vegan.

The dinner table drama was already bad, but the dessert move made it worse.
