Redditors Support Lady Who Got Angry At Her Friend’s Boyfriend For Claiming To Be A Strict Vegan
Not everyone who claims to be a strict vegan actually adheres to it...
It is well known that not all vegans strictly adhere to vegan diets at all times. While some vegans do so sincerely for the sake of their health, the environment, and animal rights, others are less serious about their veganism.
For some people, veganism is something they want everyone to know about in order to improve their social standing. However, when it comes to the defining moment, they don't mind eating animal products.
This was the experience of a Redditor, u/myredditusername28, who invited her friend and her vegan boyfriend to a roast dinner. She prepared a delicious British roast dinner while also making a vegan dish for her friend’s boyfriend (her friend’s boyfriend explicitly requested that his dietary needs be taken into consideration).
In the end, Redditor u/myredditusername28 was shocked to learn that he didn’t mind eating animal products during dinner. Unsurprisingly, the Redditor, who had been toiling away in the kitchen for hours, became enraged and expressed her frustration.
The OP’s precious time and energy had been wasted. To maintain a vegan diet, she had to spend even more money.
Worst of all, her dessert had been stolen! It must have been extremely annoying and frustrating for this host. She turned to the AITA subreddit community to find out whether or not her friend’s boyfriend was wrong in this scenario.

"Was I Wrong For Getting Annoyed With My Friend’s Vegan Boyfriend?"
Sam MoqadamWhat stands out in this Redditor's story is the disparity between the boyfriend's public image and his nonchalant attitude at dinner after demanding a different meal because he is vegan. It's no surprise that the OP was enraged.
Thus, the Redditor turned to the AITA community for their thoughts on this issue. Here’s the story in full.

As one might expect, Redditors unanimously agreed that the friend’s boyfriend was the jerk in this case. They had a lot to say about the rude boyfriend, which I’m sure you will love to read.

Making the host go through the stress of keeping you satisfied and, worst of all, stealing the host's dessert was utter rudeness and cognitive dissonance. It's perfectly acceptable to consume animal products, but don’t go around presenting yourself as a strict vegan.
