Tiktoker Shares How Her Employer Embarrassed Her In Front Of Customers For Not Wearing A Bra
“All employees need to have visible bra straps when at work"
A 28-year-old TikToker, Riley, thought she was just dressing for her own comfort, until her boss decided to make it a public lesson in front of customers. And when you picture a normal workday, this is not the kind of “training session” anyone expects.
Riley kept showing up in a shirt without a bra, and the manager’s response was not subtle. She got scolded in front of everyone, right when customers were watching, and Riley says she was mortified. The kicker, though, is that she later discovered the employee handbook did not actually include any rule about bra straps.
Then came the part that made everyone side-eye the situation, a new employee who apparently knew the handbook better than the boss did.
For the longest time, this Tiktoker would show up to work wearing a shirt without a bra
@bappermoon / TikTokThat customer-facing scolding is what turned Riley’s “no bra” habit into a full-on workplace embarrassment.
This means that her boss scolded her in front of everyone for not reading the employee handbook. What do you think the end result will be?
Of course, the TikToker felt humiliated as this happened in front of the customers. "I never showed up to work without a bra again. I was mortified," Riley said in a caption.
Riley questioned the new employee, who was also not wearing a bra, about whether the supervisors had given her the same lecture. Now, I'm not sure why the TikToker never bothered to check this, but thanks to that new employee who did her homework, Riley finally discovered that there are no rules about bra straps in the employee handbook.

Riley even compared notes with a new employee who also wasn’t wearing a bra, and that’s where the real confusion started.
This workplace boundary clash is similar to a coworker stealing office lunch, and the employee refusing to share again.
Once Riley finally checked the handbook, she realized the lecture was based on something that was never even written down.
However, others are as perplexed by the regulation as you might be. “No employer should be talking about any sort of your underwear ever,” wrote @jazzy_marie_03.
Other TikTok viewers claim they would not have put up with that treatment. “So we’re told our whole lives that showing bra straps is promiscuous, but all of a sudden there’s a rule about showing them??” asked @cherikana.
Other TikTok viewers say they would not have stood for that treatment. One wrote, “The way I would have quit on the spot.”

And with TikTok users like @jazzy_marie_03 calling it out and others saying they’d have quit, the whole thing blew up fast.
When buying undergarments to wear at home, comfort is the main consideration for consumers. You should look for a bra that is supportive of your body type, comfortable, and that you can wear as often as you want.
But when your boss demands that you wear a bra, then it is what it is. Share your thoughts about this topic in the comments below and share this post as well.
Nobody wants their boss grading their underwear in front of customers, especially when the handbook never said a word.
