That is exactly what happened with couples like Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, along with several other high-profile pairs whose marriages ended in bitterness. From messy legal fights to public blame games, these splits drew attention for all the wrong reasons.

1. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard
People around the world are literally following the drama between Depp and Heard as the sour case enters its final stages. Depp filed a case against Heard for libel and is demanding a $50 million settlement.
Heard countersued and is demanding $100 million for damages.

The whirlwind romance between Kardashian and Odom ended in divorce. Their marriage was dissolved in 2016.
The divorce was delayed because Odom was placed on life support after a drug overdose nearly claimed his life.
