Celebrity feuds have a way of freezing everything else out for a moment. A single argument, a messy interview, or one badly timed comment can turn into a pop culture event that people remember for years.

This list rounds up 13 celebrity fights that still get talked about, from old Hollywood tension to modern social media drama. Some were petty, some were explosive, and a few dragged on long enough to become part of the stars' public identities.

Kanye West and Taylor Swift are the most famous example, but they are far from the only names on the list. Read on.

1. Heidi Montag VS Lauren Conrad

Heidi and Lauren were cast members of the early 2000s show, The Hills. They were best friends until a feud ripped their relationship apart.

The downfall of their friendship started when Heidi began dating Spencer Pratt, who is now her husband. Lauren didn't like Spencer from the get-go and she wasn't shy about her feelings.

Despite her best friend's clear dislike for Spencer, Heidi moved in with him. This was truly the beginning of the end of their friendship and the issue still hasn't been resolved until now.

2. Courtney Love VS Olivia Rodrigo

Courtney Love accused Olivia Rodrigo of copying her band's album cover during a promotional photo without giving her or her band credit. Olivia replied that she loves Courtney prompting Courtney to reply cheekily with the name and address of her favorite florist.

3. Henry Winkler VS Tom Hanks

It all started when Henry Winkler was tasked to direct Tom Hanks's film, 'Turner & Hooch.' He had been directing the movie for 13 days when he was suddenly summoned into the producer's office.

The producer asked him if he had all his belongings and told him to go home. Rumor has it, Tom Hanks was behind this forced resignation which was chalked up to "creative differences."

4. Taylor Swift VS Katy Perry

The fight between these two pop superstars has long been over. But we should reminisce about how it all started.

According to gossip, the fight started because of a backup dancer and their tours going competing with each other. The fight was so dramatic it's been speculated that it inspired Taylor to write her song 'Bad Blood."

It ended when Katy sent Taylor an actual olive branch right before her Reputation tour started. They've been friends since then and Taylor even sent a handmade blanket for Katy's daughter, Daisy.

5. Dwayne Johnson VS Tyrese

These Fast and Furious co-stars can't seem to see eye to eye with their hit franchise. Tyrese slammed The Rock with an Instagram post over moving the release date of Fast 9 to 2020 instead of the scheduled 2019 release to make way for another spinoff featuring Dwayne Johnson's character.

6. Madonna VS Elton John

These legendary singers have a long-standing feud with each other which started at an awards show. While accepting the Classic Songwriter Awar, Elton John said Madonna didn't deserve the award for Best Live Act because she has been lip-syncing during her live concerts.

7. Kim Cattrall VS Sarah Jessica Parker

The rumor is that the fight between the 'Sex and The City' co-stars started over money. SJP became a producer and was earning more than her co-stars which caused Kim Cattrall to negotiate for a higher salary as a cast member.

SJP said that they were friends but Kim Cattrall said it was just a professional relationship for her. She hasn't returned for the 3rd movie of the franchise.

8. Nicki Minaj VS Cardi B

Two rap queens in their own right who can't let the other win; are we surprised? Their publicized tense discussion during the Harper's Bazaar Icon party made headlines.

The fight allegedly started when Cardi saw Nicki liking and unliking a tweet about Cardi's parenting. She said they had a private discussion before but Nicki kept taking swipes at her, so Cardi felt like she had no choice but to air out the drama.

9. Shonda Rhimes VS Katherine Heigl

The fight started when Katherine Heigl removed her name for the 2008 Emmy consideration for her role in Grey's Anatomy. She said the quality of writing on the show didn't warrant a nomination which of course hurt the feelings of the show's writer and producer, Shonda Rhimes.

10. Mariah Carey VS Jennifer Lopez

The tension between the iconic singers started when Mariah answered a question during an interview. She was asked to give an opinion about several singers and when it was time for J.Lo, Mariah said, "I don't know her."

11. Kanye West VS Taylor Swift

It all started in 2009 when Kanye interrupted Taylor in the middle of her acceptance speech. It looked like they were mending their friendship in 2015 (Taylor even presented Kanye with the VMA Vanguard Award!) but it all ended when Kanye claimed she owed him her fame in his song 'Famous.'

Jane Fonda appeared on Megyn Kelly's show to promote her movie. The host, however, had other ideas and kept probing the beloved actress about what plastic surgery she had done which Jane Fonda did not appreciate one bit.

The original Hollywood it-girls who were popular for being popular. They were childhood best friends who starred in a reality show together.

Throughout the duration of the show, it was obvious the two were growing apart. Nicole Richie didn't even invite Paris to her wedding but their fight is all in the past as the two seemed to be going along well lately.

In the grand scheme of things, these celebrity fights don't affect human history. They, however, successfully manage to put the world at a standstill even for a few seconds.

We all wait with bated breath while they diss each other online and in interviews. Although we're glad that some have resolved their issues, we also can't wait for the next celebrity fight, without physical violence, of course.

Some feuds fade, but the internet never really forgets them.
