15 Celebs Who Found Out The Hard Way They Can’t Say Whatever They Want On Social Media
They were banned from social media—some of them for life.
Celebs mostly love social media. After all, some of them wouldn't even be celebs without it.
Celebrities can use social media to engage with their fans and expand their potential audience and consumer base. Some celebrities use social media to provide a carefully curated, behind-the-scenes look into their personal lives, allowing us to view their homes and children, as well as practically tag along on their most epic and fabulous vacations.
Celebrities like the Kardashian-Jenners and others work hard to increase their social media followings, as it is a good measure of their popularity. Other celebrities, including some who are close to the Kardashians, have turned to social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter to vent their frustrations, make questionable life choices, and even harass or threaten people.
While these platforms will tolerate a lot from their most prominent users, even celebrities can go too far and be banned from social media applications for a period of time or permanently. The social media bans of some of these celebrities (including a certain former reality star-turned-president) made front-page news, but the names on this list may surprise you.
So, let's take a look at those celebrities who were sanctioned by social media:
Even celebs get banned on social media.

InstagramDonald Trump
Following the events of January 6, 2021, when a mob stormed the U.S. Capitol in support of then-President Donald Trump, Twitter permanently banned Trump, citing his comments as increasing "the risk of further encouragement of violence."

Kanye West
Although Kim Kardashian's Instagram account still displays photos of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian from happier times, her rapper ex, who is now known as Ye, has been temporarily banned from the platform after making threats to both Kim and her current boyfriend, Pete Davidson.
Let's hope he uses these restrictions to undertake some introspection.

Alex Jones
Alex Jones, a right-wing talk show personality and conspiracy theorist, was also banned from Twitter for encouraging and inciting violence through his account. Furthermore, the Infowars presenter has been prohibited from YouTube, his podcast has been removed from Apple platforms, and various pages on his Facebook account have been deleted.
Instagram
Rihanna
Rihanna has been banned from Instagram on several occasions, but never for encouraging violence. Her bans were for breaking the platform's nudity regulations, which included sharing a topless photo of herself.
In other words, she's really been accused of promoting horniness.

Courtney Love
In 2011, Courtney Love was banned from Twitter after a rant against a fashion designer named Dawn Simorangkir, with whom she had a significant feud.

Azealia Banks
Azealia Banks is a rapper who has recorded many albums, but she is best known for being a social media hothead. She's been involved in a slew of public feuds (including with Elon Musk, Grimes, Lizzo, and Zayn Malik) and has made numerous homophobic comments, earning her a lifetime ban from Twitter.

Rose McGowan
Rose McGowan, an actress and activist, is no stranger to controversy, despite remaining active on most social media platforms. She was temporarily banned from Twitter in 2017 after a series of comments criticizing Ben Affleck's business dealings with notorious movie producer Harvey Weinstein, including one that contained a private phone number, which is against Twitter policy.
After the offending post was removed, her ban was limited to 12 hours.

Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler's nipples landed her in trouble with Instagram, much like Rihanna's. She received a short Instagram suspension for breaking community standards in 2014 after posting a picture of herself riding a horse without a shirt (which seems quite harsh, to be honest).

Marjorie Taylor Greene
Marjorie Taylor Greene, a member of Congress, is a strong supporter of Donald Trump, but not so much of the truth. She has been temporarily banned from Twitter, just like her idol Trump.
Her personal account was banned in January 2022 after she provided misleading and harmful information about COVID-19 vaccines on multiple occasions.
Instagram
Perez Hilton
With over a million followers on social media, celebrity gossip journalist Perez Hilton has become a celebrity in his own right. He was banned from TikTok for life in 2020, which he blames on some of the app's biggest stars, including the D'Amelio family, whom he had mocked on occasion.
Instagram
Addison Rae
Addison Rae is one of TikTok's most well-known stars, so her apparent expulsion from the platform in October 2021 came as a surprise. However, her account was down for less than two hours, so the ban appears to have been a technical issue.
Twitter
Scout Willis
Scout Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, has been temporarily banned from Instagram for an implausible reason. She was dressed in a sweatshirt with an illustration of two topless women that she had created herself.
Scout later pointed out that while it is permitted for women to go topless on the streets of New York City, Instagram will not even allow an illustrated female nipple, which she considers sexist.

Our hearts go out to these poor celebs who will have to find a way to reach their audience without the help of social media. But we are sure they will manage somehow.
To be honest, all they have to do to be in the spotlight again is create another scandal. And the headlines will be theirs again…
