Here’s Why This Man Says He Won't Let His Future Daughters Attend College

Brace yourself for this one.

Everyone has an opinion these days about college. We don’t doubt that there’s something like college fever, and millions of teenagers and young adults have caught the bug.

From the moment most people learn about the perks of college, all they want to do is go there. We get it!

Going to college is not just about the opportunity to advance your education; it is also an avenue to enjoy increased independence and freedom. College prepares you, both intellectually and socially, for your career and adult life. As Gretchen Rubin, a happiness researcher, states, "College is a time for exploration and self-discovery, which can be crucial for personal development."

Most of the craziest moments people will ever experience are sure to happen while they are in college. We can say that movies have also done a great job of showcasing all the fun that the four walls of college have to offer.

Despite how fantastic going to college sounds, this Twitter user, Nick, is immune to the college bug. According to him, if he had daughters, he wouldn't let them attend college.

His reason is that college is not the ideal place for women with intentions to get married, as everything in college revolves around drinking, eating horrible food, and getting laid. He resolved that instead of college, his daughters would live with him until they got married.

This is some feather-ruffling ideology guaranteed to disturb feminists. As Dr. Ramani Durvasula, a clinical psychologist, points out, "Such views can perpetuate outdated stereotypes about women's roles and education." As you know, users on Twitter never pass up the opportunity to air their views, and they wasted no time sharing how they felt about this tweet.

Scroll down to find out how people reacted to Nick's tweet. Warning, it's chaos down there.

We’d say more to Nick about his super-controlling tweet, but it seems these Twitter users have done justice to that.

We can only hope he takes away from this experience and re-educates himself on what he should and should not do as a parent. Depriving your child of the college experience is certainly the latter part.
