17 Cringy "Fancy Restaurant Dining" Stories That Will Have You Minding Your Manners
How about doing a little research before going anywhere new?
Eating at fancy restaurants, especially if it's your first time, can be quite a nerve-wracking experience. If you think about it, though, it shouldn't be that way.
They're still restaurants where people just like you dine and wine. They probably just have a reputation and some pretty unique foods that you won't see anywhere else.
But we understand the effect they can have, especially with the expectations that come with them. Aside from a decent appearance, one of the expectations these places have is a change in manners.
Unlike in regular restaurants, people can't just chat away as if they're at home, and they can't order anything they want just because they feel like it. There's a certain code and a way that things go.
If you weren't born into that world, you might not be aware of those codes. Plus, it's not like there's a book lying around that you can study the night before you go to one of these places.
So it's understandable that many people commit a faux pas when dining in fancy establishments. Fortunately, these can lead to some pretty funny stories to tell and learn from.
Here are some of the best ones from Twitter.
