You know the world is in trouble when someone feels compelled to create an illustrated guide that teaches people how to make things a little better for a random Muslim person who is being harassed by some a-hole.

Maeril is a Paris-based illustrator who recently noticed the increased pressure experienced by the Islamic community in France. The rise in hate crimes and discrimination against Muslims is due to a number of recent tragic terrorist attacks in the country.

“I’m focusing on protecting Muslims here,” writes Maeril on her Tumblr page. “As they have been very specific targets lately, and as a French Middle Eastern woman, I wanted to try to do something to raise awareness about how to help when such things happen before our eyes – that way, one cannot say they “didn’t know what to do!”
