Daredevil: Born Again Final Season Will Reunite The Defenders on Disney+

Marvel fans who kept reading the clues in Daredevil: Born Again now have the payoff in plain sight. At New York Comic Con, the long hoped for Defenders reunion was confirmed for the Disney+ series' third and final season, with Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Finn Jones and Mike Colter all part of the return.

That reveal turns the Season 2 breadcrumbs into something much bigger. Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones had a major presence in the second season, and the finale also included a Luke Cage cameo from Mike Colter. Season 3 will now bring those pieces together with Finn Jones back from Iron Fist, reviving the lineup that previously crossed over in The Defenders.

For fans of Marvel's Netflix era, that matters because Daredevil did not stand alone. That run grew to include Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist before all four heroes eventually joined forces in the crossover miniseries.

What the cast said

Cox, Ritter and Jones appeared together on stage at New York Comic Con to share the news. They said reuniting felt like no time had passed, and Cox compared the experience to being back in 2016. They also said they missed Colter at the event because he could not attend, while confirming that he will return as Luke Cage.

The announcement also locks in the scope of what is ahead for Disney+ viewers. Season 3 is set to be the last season of Daredevil: Born Again, with the final run arriving in 2027. Cox acknowledged that end point with a joke, telling fans to get the "Save Daredevil" campaign ready again.

So the big change is straightforward. Daredevil: Born Again is no longer only building around Matt Murdock's story. Its last season will reunite the heroes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist for one more team-up on Disney+ in 2027.
