Diddy’s Former Assistant Says He Kept Tabs On Cassie’s Car

This article includes allegations of sexual assault that may be upsetting to some readers.

The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs has grabbed headlines with serious allegations and testimony that paint a troubling picture. At 55, the music mogul and entrepreneur faces charges including racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion.

Since his arrest in September, Combs has denied all accusations, pleading not guilty and maintaining his innocence. The court proceedings began on May 12, bringing in voices close to Combs, including his former partner, Cassie Ventura, known simply as Cassie.

Their relationship stretched over 11 years, on and off, and her testimony included shocking claims. Cassie said Combs forced her to take part in so-called “freak-off” sex parties, where she was made to have sex with a male escort while Combs watched.

She also spoke of multiple instances of physical violence. But Cassie’s was not the only testimony raising questions.

A former employee, Capricorn Clark, claimed she had seen Combs being violent toward Cassie. Other witnesses stepped forward too—former assistants, hotel staff, and even Cassie’s ex, rapper Kid Cudi—all giving their side of the story as the trial pushed into its fourth week.

One of the most striking testimonies came from a woman using the name Mia, a former personal assistant who worked with Combs from 2009 to 2017. Mia alleged that Combs sexually assaulted her during her time working for him.

Diddy's trial is set to last between eight and ten weeks.

Although she began cooperating with federal prosecutors in late 2023, she only revealed the assault in June 2024. Mia described the process of opening up as incredibly difficult, calling it “the worst thing I ever had to talk about in my life.” She said fear and trauma kept her silent for so long.

When asked why she still expressed “love and admiration” for Combs on social media, Mia explained that it was part of her job duties, not personal feelings. She also recalled incidents of abuse, saying Combs once threw a computer at her head and that she saw him slam Cassie’s head into a bed frame.

Fear and control reportedly stopped her from sharing these events publicly. In a dramatic claim, Mia said she and Cassie once escaped Combs in Turks and Caicos by paddleboarding out to sea.

The defense questioned this story, citing a lack of evidence. Mia also testified that Combs placed a tracker on Cassie’s car and frequently took their phones.

“He has stolen my phone many times, he has stolen Cassie’s phone many times, he has put tracking devices on her car,” Mia said.Diddy's trial is set to last between eight and ten weeks.Getty Images

Sean 'Diddy' Combs faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted.

Court testimony from Sylvia Oken, a manager at the Beverly Hills Hotel, added another layer. She said Combs checked into the hotel under fake names like “Frank Black” and “Phillip Pines,” listing Cassie as a guest under his name.

Oken detailed extra charges Combs racked up—$300 for cleaning drapes and $500 for “oil damage,” which she described as beyond usual cleaning. The trial is ongoing, with more witnesses scheduled to testify, including Eddie Garcia from the InterContinental Hotel.

Cassie and Diddy were together for 11 years, from 2007 to 2018.

Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has defended him strongly since the arrest. Agnifilo called the prosecution unjust and stressed Combs’ positive reputation as a music icon, entrepreneur, and family man. He acknowledged that Combs isn’t perfect but insisted he’s no criminal.

Agnifilo pointed out that Combs voluntarily moved to New York ahead of the trial and has cooperated fully with the investigation.

“These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide,” he said, adding that Combs looks forward to clearing his name in court.Cassie and Diddy were together for 11 years, from 2007 to 2018.WireImage

The Impact of Control in Relationships

Dr. John Gottman, a leading relationship expert, emphasizes that controlling behaviors in relationships can lead to emotional harm and long-term psychological effects. His research highlights that such dynamics often stem from underlying insecurities and power imbalances. In situations like Diddy's alleged behavior, victims may feel trapped, leading to anxiety and depression.

To foster healthier relationships, experts recommend establishing clear boundaries and open communication. Couples should engage in honest dialogues about their needs and concerns, which can help mitigate feelings of control and promote mutual respect.

Dr. Judith Herman, a renowned trauma expert, points out that the psychological effects of abuse can linger long after the incidents occur. Her work emphasizes the importance of validation and support in the healing process. Survivors of abusive relationships often face challenges in rebuilding trust—both in themselves and others.

To improve the situation for victims, experts suggest creating safe spaces for sharing experiences, such as support groups or therapy. This communal approach not only aids individual healing but also fosters a sense of belonging and understanding among survivors.

The trial is set to last around eight weeks, with many more testimonies still to come. If Sean Combs is found guilty, he could face a life sentence, highlighting the severity of the charges against him.

Until a verdict is reached, the court will hear more details that could shape the outcome. This case remains a high-profile and complex legal battle, with each new piece of evidence playing a crucial role in determining Combs' future.

Analysis & Alternative Approaches

Ongoing research from trauma specialists like Dr. Bessel van der Kolk shows that healing from relational trauma requires addressing both emotional and physiological responses. His landmark book 'The Body Keeps the Score' illustrates how trauma affects the brain and body, necessitating a holistic approach to recovery.

Effective strategies include mindfulness practices, professional therapy, and community support, which empower survivors to reclaim their narratives. These methods remind us that healing is a journey, often needing patience and professional guidance to navigate the complex emotions that arise from traumatic experiences.
