Disney's Anthropomorphic Anthology - 20 Animal Characters Reimagined As Humans

Experience the enchanting transformation as beloved Disney animal characters are reimagined as humans in these captivating illustrations.

Disney’s “HUMANIMALS” series has taken over Alex’s feed, and it’s not hard to see why. He takes beloved animal characters and gives them human faces, human outfits, and human drama, all while keeping that unmistakable Disney-ish spark.

But this is where it gets messy, in the fun way. Alex is juggling multiple lanes at once, from Archimedes to Olivia Flaversham, from Kala and her baby to Gill, plus mashup daydreams that keep pulling him in new directions. One minute he’s talking about humanizing Pixar characters like “Cars” or “Monsters, Inc.,” the next he’s teasing Disney Harry Potter mashups and even floating “Fantastic Beasts” as a future project.

And right when you think you’ve got his plan figured out, he drops the real twist: he’s also craving anime styles like “Detective Conan” and “Sailor Moon,” even if time is the problem.

While Alex's love for Disney is undeniable, there is curiosity about whether he would branch out to draw characters from other franchises. "I'm not much of a planner," he admits. "But it's an intriguing idea to humanize Pixar characters too. Some of my followers have suggested 'Cars' or 'Monsters, Inc.' I'll see if I can incorporate some of these into my work."

Despite his diverse series on various Disney characters, we were eager to learn which one holds a special place in Alex's heart. "Disney 'HUMANIMALS' is currently quite popular, along with the Disney Harry Potter mashups," he shares. "I believe there's still plenty of creative potential to explore within these series. For instance, I'm considering tackling characters from 'Fantastic Beasts' in the future."

That’s when Archimedes and the whole “HUMANIMALS” lineup start feeling less like a one-off and more like Alex’s main obsession.

While Alex has tackled numerous projects in the past, there is curiosity about his plans for future endeavors. "I'm still fully engaged in the series I've started, and there's plenty more work to be done," he explains. "For instance, with the HUMANIMAL Series, I have a long list of characters I'd like to explore further—from 'The Lion King' to 'Rapunzel' and beyond. Additionally, I'm always brainstorming new creative ideas, although they're not quite ready to be revealed just yet. Hopefully, I'll have the opportunity to dive back into Movie Mashups in the near future!"

Then Alan-A-Dale and Lady Kluck enter the chat, and suddenly the question becomes which franchise gets the next human makeover.

While Alex's art style closely resembles that of Disney, there is curiosity about his willingness to explore new artistic territories. "If I had all the time in the world, I'd love to delve into a variety of different styles," he admits. "I'm particularly drawn to anime, like 'Detective Conan' and 'Sailor Moon.' Unfortunately, I don't currently have the time to fully immerse myself in these subjects."

Despite the challenges of the creative process, there is immense enjoyment to be found in bringing art to life. "I find the entire process incredibly rewarding," Alex shares. "From conceiving an idea to sketching it out, and finally bringing it to fruition as a finished piece of art—it's hard to put into words, but there's something truly special about the journey."

When asked about his favorite Disney character, Alex admits, "That's a tough question. I have too many... I guess characters like Ariel, Ursula, Cruella de Vil, and a few others are among my favorites."

Reflecting on his own body of work, Alex finds it challenging to pick a favorite series or art piece. "Like every artist, I sometimes struggle with my own art," he confesses. "But I love what I'm doing, and I'm grateful for the creativity and ability to bring my art to life."

Kala and her baby, plus Olivia Flaversham and Gill, make it clear Alex is committed to the current series, but his “Movie Mashups” itch is still there.

And just when Little Pearl and the Flower from Alice in Wonderland are ready to steal the spotlight, Alex admits he wants anime vibes too, which complicates everything.
