Disney Animal Characters Reimagined As Humans In True-To-Original Illustrations By Talented Artist

She kept the style, shape language, and personality consistent with the original Disney film.

Someone somewhere decided Disney animal characters deserved the human treatment, and this illustrator took it personally. The results are equal parts adorable and oddly specific, because she is not just slapping outfits on characters, she is rebuilding their faces, colors, and film-era vibes from scratch.

It gets complicated fast. Lady and the Tramp look like they stepped out of a romance dinner scene, while Aristocats turns Duchess into a 1900s style problem to solve, especially with O’Malley’s bulky, “kind of funny” human proportions. Then there is Jungle Book, where Bagheera and Baloo have to stay recognizable, plus The Lion King, where Simba and Nala keep their “best friend” energy and color consistency.

By the time we hit Zootopia’s Nick and Judy, and Oliver & Company’s Tito getting a full glow-up, you start to see the real mission: uniformity, character shape language, and style that matches each film.

Duchess and Thomas O’Malley in human form.

I think this one was harder because O’Malley is such a bulky character, both in face and build, making him look kind of funny as a human. Maintaining the 1900-1910s look was challenging for Duchess because her hair would look much better as a 20s girl, but I found an appropriate hairstyle.Duchess and Thomas O’Malley in human form.s0alaina

Human Simba and Nala

“This is Nala! She’s my best friend!”I originally wasn’t going to draw them because I already have a favorite version of them as humans! But today I thought, “WHY THE HECK NOT!” So I did it.I try to keep character consistency with facial features and colors (with a bit of inspirational flair from the musical).Human Simba and Nalas0alaina

The picture looked so unbalanced with just Dodger and Oliver, so I added Rita in there (because she’s one of my favorite animal characters).Dodger, Oliver, and Rita in human form.s0alaina

Tito in human form.

"What you talkin' about, man? That's a primo wallet, man."I AM SO HAPPY TO FINALLY BE REDESIGNING TITO! My first design was a little sad and a little white, man... BUT NOW HE'S GOT THAT LATIN RHYTHM!Tito in human form.s0alaina

Lady and the Tramp set the tone, because the romance is cute, but the real flex is how the human redesign still feels like the original characters.

Aristocats is where it stops being easy, Duchess has to keep her look consistent with her era, and O’Malley’s big face and build make the human version a challenge.

The Lion King and The Jungle Book keep the momentum going, with Simba and Nala staying true to their facial features and colors, even when the artist adds musical-inspired flair.

Then Oliver & Company flips the script, Dodger and Oliver look a little unbalanced until Rita shows up, and Tito’s redesign finally lands with that “Latin rhythm” confidence.

What inspired this undertaking was the lack of character consistency s0alaina observed in the works of other artists. The illustrator took it upon herself to create personified versions of the animals while retaining the style of their respective films and ensuring uniformity with the characters' features and shape language.

As you can see, the results were stunning.

The only real question left is which human version you want to see next.
