Glen Powell’s “Desperate” Mission To Adopt His Pup Lands Them Both On The Cover Of DOGUE

Glen Powell, the charismatic star of the hit movie "Twisters," recently shared the heartfelt and determined journey he undertook to adopt his beloved dog, Brisket. This adorable pup, which now graces the cover of DOGUE, Vogue's digital project celebrating "celebrity-dogs," has captured not only Powell's heart but also the attention of dog lovers everywhere.

But Brisket's story isn't just one of cuteness; it's a tale of persistence, love, and a bit of celebrity magic.

Powell’s love affair with Brisket began in the most unexpected of places—a café in Enid, Oklahoma, where Powell was filming "Twisters" last summer. Scrolling through Instagram during a break, he stumbled upon a picture of a tiny white puppy on the Labelle Foundation’s account.

That moment sparked an intense determination in Powell, who instantly knew that this pup was meant to be part of his life. “I remember exactly where I was—in this café in Enid, Oklahoma—when I saw a picture of him,” Powell recalled in an interview with Vogue accompanying Brisket’s DOGUE cover.

The sight of Brisket set Powell on a mission. Desperate to secure the adoption, he pulled out all the stops. “I was very desperate to get Brisket. I made this video; I called anyone this adoption place followed on Instagram,” he admitted.

His relentless efforts didn't stop at phone calls and videos. Powell made a special trip back to Los Angeles in the middle of filming just to meet Brisket and ensure that he could bring the little pup home.

Initially, Powell even considered naming the dog after the town where his quest began.

“I really felt the need to be a dog dad when I was in Enid, Oklahoma, so I almost named him Enid,” Powell shared.

However, after spending time with the pup, he realized that the name Brisket was a perfect fit, capturing the playful and loving spirit of his new companion.

Since joining Powell’s life, Brisket has become much more than a pet—he's a full-fledged member of Powell's social circle. Powell affectionately calls him "Brisky," and friends have taken to calling him "Brisky Business" due to his lively, party-loving personality.

“He’s a party, so it makes sense,” Powell joked. Brisket’s charm has made him a favorite among Powell’s friends, many of whom are eager to babysit the pup and send Powell photos of their adventures with him. Powell quipped that if Brisket had a catchphrase, it would be, "Oh, friend!" because of his eagerness to meet and befriend everyone he encounters.

Brisket’s social nature has also made him a constant companion for Powell on his travels. During the "Twisters" press tour, Brisket accompanied Powell everywhere, including a tour of the Universal Studios Back Lot with his co-stars.

Powell is thrilled to have Brisket by his side for his shoots in Atlanta and London. “It’s really fun having him on that adventure. You’re far away from home, and it’s just nice being able to take on all these adventures with him,” Powell said.

Brisket’s journey to fame culminated in his feature on the cover of DOGUE, placing him alongside other famous pups like Billie Eilish’s dog, Shark, and Demi Moore’s pup, Pilaf. With his adorable looks and vibrant personality, Brisket is proving to be more than just Powell’s pet—he’s a star in his own right, sharing the spotlight with his devoted owner.

As "Twisters" hits theaters, Powell and Brisket continue to charm audiences both on and off the screen, making this dynamic duo one of Hollywood's most beloved pairs.
