Disney Dreamlight Valley’s next expansion turns the Valley into a merfolk adventure on November 18
The Keepsake Sea arrives November 18 with five new Disney characters, three biomes, merfolk gameplay, Dory and new edition prices.
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s next big addition is not just bringing new Disney faces. The Keepsake Sea also changes how players move through the world, with underwater exploration, a pirate ship and a companion pulled straight from Finding Nemo.
The Keepsake Sea launches on November 18, and the newly shared details make clear that this is a much broader update than a simple character drop. The expansion adds five villagers drawn from several Disney stories: Captain Hook and Wendy from Peter Pan, Megara from Hercules, Milo Thatch from Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Captain Jack Sparrow.
Those newcomers are tied to a new story that stretches across three fresh biomes: Shipwreck Shores, Candy Cove and Kingdom of Oublier. These areas are presented as large places to explore, with objectives, interactions and hidden elements built into them.
The biggest gameplay change is the ability for players to become merfolk. That form opens underwater exploration across the expansion’s biomes and introduces a new way to gather materials below the surface. Players will not be alone there, either. Dory becomes Dreamlight Valley’s first Adventure Companion, helping with navigation and item collection during undersea travel.
Dory also continues to follow the player on land by traveling inside a bubble. Other villagers who are not merfolk can still appear on the ocean floor in personal submarines. The update also lets a player’s merfolk form swim on the surface of other large bodies of water in the existing Valley.
Travel is changing above the waves, too. Players can unlock, captain and customize a pirate ship that is required to reach certain parts of the map. The ship also includes a crane used to pull up resources and other rewards from the sea. Up to four villagers can be chosen as crew members, and customization extends to parts of the ship as well as selected underwater spaces.

Editions and prices
The expansion is being positioned for both returning players and newcomers. A Keepsake Sea Edition priced at $59.99 includes the base game and the new expansion. An Ultimate Edition costs $79.99 and bundles those with last year’s Wishblossom Ranch expansion.
Players who already own Disney Dreamlight Valley can buy The Keepsake Sea on its own in two versions: a Base edition for $16.99 or a Deluxe edition with extras for $49.99. The game’s storefront also lists older versions at discounted prices ahead of their discontinuation.
