7 Live-Action Disney Film Adaptations Previewed At The D23 Expo
They look amazing!
Disney's 2022 D23 Expo packed a lot into three days at the Anaheim Convention Center, and the biggest buzz came from what was coming next. Fans got a first look at several live-action Disney films, and the lineup was stacked with familiar favorites.
From long-awaited sequels to fresh takes on classic stories, the previews covered everything from The Little Mermaid to Snow White and beyond.
Here are the seven live-action Disney adaptations that stood out at D23, and the previews that had everyone excited.
1. Peter Pan & Wendy
Peter Pan & Wendy stars Jude Law, Jim Gaffigan, Ever Anderson, Yara Shahidi, and Alyssa Wapanatahk. We're told this adaptation will provide more insight into Wendy and her backstory.
2. The Little Mermaid
The live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid stars Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Jonah Hauer-King, and more. Playing Ariel is the incredible Halle, that's Halle Bailey, not Halle Berry.
3. Hocus Pocus 2
This long-awaited sequel has been almost 30 years in the making! Hocus Pocus 2 stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, and will be available to watch on Disney+ starting September 30th.

4. Snow White
This one is set to be epic! Snow White will feature Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler and is scheduled to hit screens sometime in 2023.
5. Mufasa: The Lion King
Mufasa: The Lion King will tell the famous story from the perspectives of Rafiki, Timon, and Pumbaa. It's set to debut in 2024 and looks incredible!
6. Disenchanted
Another long-awaited sequel, Disenchanted will hit Disney+ on November 24. It stars Amy Adams, Maya Rudolph, James Marsden, and Patrick Dempsey.
7. Haunted Mansion
Haunted Mansion features LaKeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito, Owen Wilson, Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, Hasan Minhaj, and more. The spooky film is set to make its debut in 2023.
