Reimagining Disney Princesses At Their Current Ages
People of all ages can relate to and appreciate these pictures.
Someone out there just took the Disney princess timeline and hit the fast-forward button, because the “Once upon a time” ages are not matching the calendar anymore. Snow White is now 92, Belle is now 41, and Ariel is now 42, which is already throwing people off in the best way.
But the twist is personal. The artist behind the “Before and After” drawings, Arêas, is not just crunching numbers, he’s pairing each princess with an imagined current-age version and sprinkling in the real-life inspirations he used for the vibe, like Betty White for Snow White and Cameron Diaz for Ariel’s cheeks. It’s complicated because these characters are supposed to be frozen, yet the whole point of his collection is that aging is real, and so are the memories that come with it.
Now Arêas wants you to look again, because these princesses are not stuck in one moment anymore.
"Snow White is now 92 years old. In the movie, she was 14 years old. Betty White was my inspiration."
Facebook"Belle is now 41 years old. In the movie, she was 17 years old."
Facebook"Ariel is now 42 years old. In the movie, she was 16 years old. Cameron Diaz was the inspiration for the cheeks."

"Jasmine is now 38 years old. In the movie, she was 15 years old."

"Cinderella is now 84 years old. In the movie, she was 19 years old. Julie Andrews was my inspiration."

"Pocahontas is now 38 years old. In the movie, she was 18 years old."

"Aurora is now 72 years old. In the movie, she was 16 years old."

"Mulan is now 33 years old. In the movie, she was 16 years old. Ming-Na Wen was my inspiration."

That’s when Snow White’s 14-year-old movie age versus her 92-year-old “now” hits like a plot twist you did not see coming.
It also echoes a friend’s emotional plea for a business loan that still got refused.
Then Belle’s 17 turning into 41, and Ariel’s 16 turning into 42, makes the inspirations feel less like trivia and more like character backstory.
After that, the Cinderella math gets extra wild, 19 in the movie and 84 in the drawings, and suddenly the whole collection feels like a time machine.
Finally, when Mulan goes from 16 to 33 and Arêas talks about continuing the series, it turns into a promise to keep aging these legends with new stories.
In the future, Arêas wants to continue creating more drawings for his “Before and After – Disney Princesses” collection. He aims to depict different ways of aging and tell more stories through his art.
With each picture, he hopes to inspire people to imagine and remember good times. He also wants to help people appreciate Disney princesses even more by highlighting how special they are.
As he continues to work on this project, Arêas remains focused on his goal of making everyone feel that they can see themselves in these characters, regardless of their age or where they are in life.
These princesses might be “before and after,” but the real surprise is how relatable the after part feels.
