Disney ride closures 2027: the longest shutdowns are in Tokyo and Paris
Disney has set 2027 closure dates for rides in Florida, Paris, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, with some downtime lasting into summer.
Disney has started mapping out a sizable slate of attraction closures for 2027, and the longest interruptions are centered in Tokyo and Paris rather than California. The update affects guests planning early 2027 trips to Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland Paris, with one Paris ride already closed and not due back until summer 2027.
What changed for 2027 Disney trips
Disney has confirmed a run of temporary attraction closures across several resorts for 2027, with downtime ranging from several days to almost three months, and one much longer refurbishment already underway in Paris.
At Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom visitors will continue to miss Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress at the start of 2027. The Tomorrowland show has been closed since July 6, 2026, and Disney expects it to return in late spring 2027 with updated scenes. Disney has also said Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston are joining the voice cast, and that the refreshed version will include an updated 1980s scene.
Disneyland Resort in California is preparing a major reimagining of Tomorrowland, but no specific 2027 attraction closure dates have been announced there.
The most extensive single project is at Disneyland Paris. Crush's Coaster at Disney Adventure World closed on September 7, 2026 and is set to remain unavailable until summer 2027. Disney says the Finding Nemo ride is getting its biggest technical refurbishment yet, including partial track replacement, upgrades to operating, sensor and communications systems, and work to clean, repaint and repair scenic elements. After that, the attraction will go through testing and technical validation before reopening. Disney says the project is meant to support the ride's long-term operation and improve comfort.
