Disney Sidekicks Reimagined As Their Princess Counterparts (10 Pics)
Discover the enchanting transformation as iconic Disney sidekicks are reimagined as their corresponding princess counterparts in this whimsical series of 10 pictures.
Some people don’t recognize a favor, but this artist did. Instead of giving us the usual “princess makeover,” she flipped the script and reimagined Disney sidekicks as their princess counterparts, and the results are weirdly perfect.
It starts with Flounder as Ariel and immediately spirals into the cuteness zone: an owl version of Aurora, Gus dressed up as Cinderella, and Meeko stepping into Pocahontas energy. Then you get Pascal as Rapunzel, Louis as Tiana, and Rajah as Jasmine, plus the bigger mashup moment with Olaf and Sven as Elsa and Anna.
And once you see why she’s so obsessed with the Disney feeling, the whole project makes even more sense.
1. Flounder As Ariel

2. The Owl As Aurora

3. Gus As Cinderella
4. Meeko As Pocahontas
5. Pascal As Rapunzel
The whole thing kicks off with Flounder as Ariel, and suddenly the “sidekick” cast feels like it belongs on a royal lineup.
But the vibe gets even more tangled when Gus as Cinderella and Meeko as Pocahontas show up, because now the characters are stealing each other’s spotlight.
The artist reflects on both the rewarding and challenging aspects of her Disney series, stating, "The most rewarding aspect of any series, particularly the Disney project, is the reaction from the audience. These pieces resonate with people of all ages, and the joy expressed in the comments is truly heartwarming.
As for challenges, the most demanding aspect would have to be the time commitment. For instance, creating Louis as Tiana (my latest addition) required around 8 hours of non-stop work from start to finish. While not exceptionally long compared to some artworks, it certainly took its toll."
It also reminds me of the AITA where someone delayed repaying a friend after luxury splurges.
6. Louis As Tiana
HatterpillarArts expresses her fondness for Disney, highlighting the light-heartedness and positivity that evoke a sense of childhood nostalgia. "What I like about Disney," she explains, "is the ability to watch a Disney film and instantly feel like a child again, even just for those two hours.
The vibrant colors, beautiful art, and catchy songs create an immersive experience that brings joy to everyone watching. It's a wonderful escape into a world filled with magic and wonder."
7. Rajah As Jasmine
Then Louis as Tiana hits, and you remember she wasn’t just doodling, she was in 8 hours of non-stop work mode to pull it off.
When asked about her sources of inspiration, the artist shared, "Inspiration for me can come from a lot of different sources at once. It can be something as random as the weather or a song lyric. It definitely varies a lot. Sometimes I create pieces where I can't pinpoint any specific inspiration; the art piece just kind of happens."
She also mentioned being inspired by some of the greatest artists in history, such as Salvador Dalí, Andy Warhol, and Van Gogh. Additionally, she highlighted modern artists who have influenced her work, including Australian YouTuber Jazza, known for his cartoon-style art, and Jim McKenzie, an exceptional sculpture artist.
8. Olaf And Sven As Elsa And Anna
9. Pua As Moana
Finally, when Olaf and Sven turn into Elsa and Anna, you realize this isn’t random fan art, it’s a whole Disney nostalgia machine powered by audience reactions.
Art has been a lifelong passion for HatterpillarArts, who recalls, "I've been drawing since I was a toddler. My dad, being an amazing artist himself, inspired me, and I followed in his footsteps. By the age of 4, I already had my own tiny art studio tucked away under the stairs."
10. Mushu As Mulan
Disney’s sidekicks never stood a chance once they started wearing princess roles.
Wait, this AITA about refusing to pet sit an aggressive parrot after it attacked a cat is even messier.
