Is Test Track next? EPCOT tests a full day without its single rider line
EPCOT's Test Track shut its single rider line on Oct. 14 for an all day operations test, echoing Disney's recent Expedition Everest change.
Test Track visitors at EPCOT ran into an unexpected change on October 14: the attraction's single rider line was closed for the full day. Disney has not announced any permanent update, but the move immediately drew attention because of what happened recently at Expedition Everest.
Embedded X post from @DisneyWorldTom, October 14, 2026:
"🚨 UPDATE: The Single Rider line at Test Track in EPCOT is closed today.
According to a Cast Member, the line will remain closed for the entire day as Disney tests a new operating procedure.
No word yet on whether this will lead to any permanent changes."
At the World Discovery attraction, guests trying to enter Test Track through the separate single rider entrance were turned away. Cast members reportedly said the queue would stay closed all day while Disney tested a new operating procedure.
The change was not announced in advance. For guests who use single rider access to save time by taking any available seat instead of waiting to ride with the rest of their party, the effect was immediate: that option was unavailable at Test Track throughout October 14. Disney had not publicly explained the test or said whether the line would return on Thursday, October 15.

Why Disney fans are watching this closely
The reason this one-day closure stands out is that Walt Disney World has already tried a similar loading change at another attraction. Earlier this year at Expedition Everest in Disney's Animal Kingdom, cast members shifted away from filling empty seats with a dedicated single rider queue and instead sorted parties in the regular line into even and odd groups. One account said that sorting happened in the final holding room.
Expedition Everest's single rider line later closed permanently in September, and Disney has since removed the alternate queue there. That does not confirm the same result for Test Track, but it is why some guests see the EPCOT test as more than a one-day inconvenience.
There is still no official word on whether Test Track's single rider line will stay, return, or eventually follow the same path. Some guests have also questioned how a similar approach would work at Test Track, where ride vehicles have three seats per row.
For now, other Walt Disney World attractions still offering single rider access include Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney's Hollywood Studios, plus Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance sometimes offers a single rider line as well, but availability can vary and is not guaranteed.
