Why Magic Kingdom regulars may be the ones tripped up by this quiet boat dock swap
Magic Kingdom has swapped two resort boat docks, changing pickup spots for Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.
A small transportation change at Magic Kingdom could catch the most confident Disney World guests off guard. Two resort launch docks have traded assignments, and the update is already affecting boats serving four resorts.
What changed at the Magic Kingdom boat docks
The resort launch pickup points for Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort have been reassigned.
Boats for Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness now load at boat dock #2, which had previously been used for Grand Floridian and Polynesian service. Grand Floridian and Polynesian boats now load at the dock across from the Magic Kingdom entrance, the spot that had been used for Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.
The resort pairings themselves did not change. Grand Floridian and Polynesian still share one launch route, and Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness still share the other. Only the dock locations have flipped.
Guests can verify the new setup by checking the signs. Dock #2 has a Resort Launches sign under the numbered marker, plus a smaller sign listing Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Campground. The Resort Monorail sign is just past that dock entrance. The Grand Floridian and Polynesian dock is across from the park entrance, under a canopy near gates marked Entrance 2 and Entrance 3, with a hanging sign naming both resorts.

Who it affects most, and why Disney fans may want to double check
This is the kind of change that may confuse repeat visitors more than first-timers. Guests who know the area well may head straight for the place they remember, while newcomers are more likely to stop and read the posted signs.
Getting it wrong can be more annoying here than boarding the wrong bus. A mistaken boat trip can send guests across the water to the wrong side of Seven Seas Lagoon, which means riding back rather than simply getting off and walking. That matters even more because Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness are already two resorts guests often mix up.
The route pairings still follow the resort geography. Grand Floridian and Polynesian are on the monorail loop on the same side of Seven Seas Lagoon, while Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness are on the Bay Lake side and do not have monorail service.
Disney has not given a reason for the swap or said whether it is temporary or permanent. Construction tied to the Magic Kingdom ferryboat dock expansion is a possible explanation, but that has not been confirmed. Disney has also said a fourth Magic Kingdom ferryboat will arrive in 2027, so the setup may not be the last transportation adjustment guests see.
