Why EPCOT Guests Cannot Find Germany’s Pretzel Cart Right Now
EPCOT’s Germany pretzel and beer cart is gone from its usual spot, and Disney has not said why or when it may return.
A familiar snack stop has disappeared from EPCOT’s World Showcase. The pretzel and beer cart in the Germany pavilion is no longer in its usual location, and Disney has not offered an explanation or a timeline for a return.
What changed in Germany
The missing location is the Germany pavilion’s pretzel and beer cart, a longtime grab-and-go stop known for oversized German-style pretzels and a selection of beers. Guests visiting EPCOT now should not expect to find it where it normally stands.
Disney has not said whether the cart was removed temporarily or permanently. The company also has not tied the change to any specific project.
Its disappearance comes during a period of visible changes in the pavilion. Volkskunst previously closed, Der Teddybär shut for a time before reopening, and construction walls have gone up around the restrooms. Even with that broader activity, Disney has not said the cart’s removal is part of the same work.
A race weekend theory, but no official answer
Some Annual Passholders think the removal may be connected to the EPCOT Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, which begins October 22 and runs through October 24. One guest in a public passholder Facebook group suggested carts along the run path would be a safety hazard.
That idea fits the event, since runDisney courses travel around World Showcase. Still, it remains only a guest theory. Disney has not confirmed any connection between the missing cart and race weekend preparations.
There is also a detail that makes the explanation less certain. Another guest said they noticed the cart was already gone last week and hoped the change was only temporary. Other fans were more dramatic about it, with one calling it the loss of the "carb cart."
What guests can do instead
The immediate impact is simple: EPCOT guests planning a quick pretzel stop in Germany need a backup plan now.
Pretzels are still available elsewhere in the pavilion. The German Bier Stand nearby continues to serve pretzels along with beer, and Sommerfest, the quick-service location near Biergarten Restaurant toward the back of the pavilion, also has them on the menu.
For the coming days, those are the safer options to count on. Whether the cart returns after race weekend or has been retired has not been announced.
