Disneyland Paris Reopens Sleeping Beauty Castle Bridge, and the New Detail Fans Will Spot First

The bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle has reopened at Disneyland Paris with new granite paving, rebuilt stonework and a fairy-inspired compass rose.

Guests can once again cross the bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris. The route reopened on October 12 after a closure that began in May, and the finished work turns out to be far more than a routine touch-up.

The bridge had been blocked off since May, with construction walls cutting off access to the area. Disneyland Paris later added scrims printed with the base of the castle to help keep the view friendlier for vacation photos. The resort had said access would return in late September 2026, but the reopening came later, with guests regaining the route on October 12.

Disneyland Paris says cast members completely rebuilt the structure that supports the bridge's decorative elements. The wooden balustrade posts were replaced, the drawbridge deck is entirely new, and the arch beneath the bridge was formed from 2,735 individual hand sculpted synthetic stone pieces.

The walking surface was also redesigned from the ground up. The original stamped concrete has been replaced with waterproof granite paving, which the resort says is more attractive, more durable and easier to maintain.

The standout addition is a new compass rose made from natural stone and brass. Its blue and red sections, linked by a green arc, represent Flora, Fauna and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty. At the center is a brass medallion engraved with Aurora's crown.

New paint, patina, detailed engravings and landscaping round out the restoration. For Disneyland Paris visitors, the immediate change is simple: the castle bridge is back in use now, with a rebuilt look that adds fresh detail to one of the park's most photographed paths.
