Disney Golden Goose twist: the $790 Mickey sneakers sold out almost immediately
Disney and Golden Goose launched Oct. 13. By Wednesday evening, the $790 adult Mickey and Friends sneakers were sold out online.
Disney's new luxury fashion crossover already has a clear breakout item. The adult Mickey and Friends Super-Star sneakers from Golden Goose, priced at $790 a pair, were showing as sold out on the brand's U.S. site by Wednesday evening after the collection's Oct. 13 launch.
The first big change in Disney's Golden Goose launch
The sold-out status affects shoppers looking for the adult versions of the Mickey and Friends Super-Star sneaker online in the U.S. Both the men's and women's pairs were no longer available on Golden Goose's website by Wednesday evening.
The collection debuted Oct. 13 as a collaboration between Disney and Italian label Golden Goose. Disney has described it as a first-of-its-kind pairing for Mickey and Friends and the brand. The line is available through goldengoose.com and at select Golden Goose stores around the world. Disney has not announced sales in Disney parks or at Disney Store.
If you missed the adult pair, the younger sizes were still available online at the time the sold-out adult styles were spotted. The Young Super-Star was listed at $375, and the Kids' Super-Star at $315, with both marked limited.

Why these shoes stood out
The sneaker uses Golden Goose's familiar Super-Star shape and the deliberately worn-in look the company is known for, but shifts it into a space theme. The design features ice-gray suede and the brand's white side star.
On the artwork, astronaut Mickey is shown chasing Pluto toward the star on one side. Donald Duck appears floating among stars on the other, and Daisy Duck also appears in a space suit. The heel tab is replaced with a Mickey-shaped planet detail with rings and craters.
That same galaxy story continues across the rest of the drop. Pluto's tail appears on tops, Donald is shown planting a flag, and Minnie and Daisy are depicted exploring space. For kids, the collection also includes a denim baseball cap with a Mickey silhouette intended to stand in for traditional park ears.

What is still in the collection, and what it costs
The sneakers are not the only premium-priced item in the release. Other pieces listed on the U.S. site included a reversible bomber jacket for $2,300, a washed sweatshirt for $950, a washed polo for $690, a T-shirt for $395, and a distressed baseball cap for $250. The kids' cap was listed at $160.
Accessories range from a three-pin set at $150 to laces priced from $95 to $330. Adult socks were listed at $98 and were also sold out, while kids' socks were $55. A kids' sweatshirt was listed at $460 on preorder.
Golden Goose is also offering personalization tied to the release. At 20 select stores worldwide, Disney artists are scheduled to customize items from the collection, with sign-ups handled through the Disney collection page. Pieces can also be personalized through the brand's Co-Creation service.
