Housemates Discover Something Disturbing in the Fitzroy Attic of Their Rented Townhouse

"There was some creepy stuff up there."

A strange attic discovery in Fitzroy has left a group of housemates rattled after they found what looked like a disturbing shrine hidden in their rented townhouse. The stash reportedly turned up only after a former tenant mentioned there was "something up in the roof," which sent the group up to investigate.

Inside, they found old photos, clothes, football boots, and zip lock bags containing items such as used band-aids, hair, and discarded cigarettes. Some of the bags also held unknown liquids, and the whole setup looked unsettling enough to send the housemates straight to their real estate agent and the owners.

Now the group is trying to figure out who put it there, and why it was left behind at all. Read on.

When Martin shared a video of the attic on TikTok, many of his followers left comments urging him to go to the police, so that's what he did. "We called the hotline, and they pretty much just said if there are no body parts, don't worry about it," Martin said.

Despite being told there is no need to move the items, the housemates understandably aren't too keen on leaving the shrine in their home. "I think one of us is going to have to do the dirty work and get it all down and throw it all out to make sure it's all gone," Martin said.

The group says they are also going to perform a house cleanse.

The housemates are not exactly treating this like a normal rental issue.

This mess echoes the hoarding housemate debate, where living comfort clashes with “artistic expression”.

The items included film-developed photos, some old clothes, football boots, and zip lock bags holding various items such as used band-aids, hair, and discarded cigarettes.

The Fitzroy house was purchased by the current owners in 2016. At that time, the townhouse was advertised as being available for sale for the first time in generations.

Surely there must be an epic story behind this secret stash of unusual items. Although it is most likely a creepy one, we would love to hear it and find out who is responsible for the shrine and, more importantly, why.
